It's never too early for prognostication - Weber 13 seed

Joe Lunardi already has his first 2014 bracket up. We would be playing Gonzaga in Spokane. We would need to learn how to win a championship first.

I wouldn't go so far as to predict a championship. There are way too many variables that have to fall in place to make that happen. However, I will say that we will be exciting to watch, fiercely competitive, and will fight to the very end. I expect them to be in the mix for a championship and would be disappointed with anything less. If we win our league and the BSC tournament, I would expect to get an NCAA regional seed between 12 and 14.

All that I can say for certain is that it will be a whole lot of fun. I fully expect this forum to buzz all summer and fall.

It's a great time to be a Wildcat!

i just looked on delta and booked my flight to spokane. its gonna be a fun game.

Flying to Spokane would be better than the last time the Cats played an NCAA game there. Some nob on the student bus talked the entire 14 hours to Spokane from Ogden.

Alright folks, we re-entered Joes bracket today as a 15 seed playing SDSU in San Antonio. I checked Kenpom and we are the highest rated team in our league at 174, UNC is 196 everyone else is in the 200's (SUU is 350). If we falter down the stretch, is this the year the Big Sky stoops to the play in game level?

We would have to win out to even have a sniff at a 13 or 14. I think we are the lowest rated 15 seed right now.

Some times the committee throws out a record and looks at previous tournaments and a school gets their seeding that way. My opinion is Weber State will never be in a 16 seed play-in game based off the name. They could be in the other play-in.

A few teams will lose their conference tourney and we could sneak to a 14 or 13.
Exactly.
The play-ins and 16 seeds often are 4th and 5th place teams from their conferences that won the conf tourney.

Montanas stellar showing last year is really ensuring a great seed for whomever (my bets on Weber) win the Sky this year. 15 or 16 here we come! I think there is a slight chance that Weber, and only Weber, could sneek into a 14 because of the programs history. But, I'm not crossing my fingers right now.

And never hurts to dream big- but based on Big Sky's & Weber State's OOC record this season? Pitiful! Name recognition? Don't count on it unless the Big Sky Commish (Fullerton) is still on the selection committee. I would never say never as to Weber or WHOEVER wins the BSC tourney getting a 16 seed. Lunardi maybe a genious at bracketology?? But online 'teamrankings.com' has continually listed Weber St. (only among BSC) as a 16 seed possibility. The high-major tourneys will determine a lot about the seedings - both up & down. BWH dream on ! (& hope the Wildcats do win the BSC tourney this year)!!

:agree:
It will take a few years to recoup from the damage that fiasco caused the BSC. It might be a stretch, but I could see Weber sneaking into a 14 if they were to win out but more than likely it would be a 15. First things are first: earn the right to host, and then PLEASE prove us doubters wrong that you're capable of winning a tournament!
