NAU beats Portland State... either NAU, Montana, or Sac State will host. Montana will need a ridiculous confluence of events, by all likelihood it's Sac State with NAU dependent on the SUU-Sac game on now.

Damn, I didnt' realize NAU had 5 losses. Is there any way Montana can win and Eastern still get it? There's a snowball's chance in hell that they lose to wretched MSU.

DOPA, that is incorrect.

I think if PSU had won tonight, that plus an EWU win and a CSUS loss on Saturday would have given Eastern the tiebreak over UM. As things stand now EWU needs a win, a CSUS loss and a UM loss to host.

NAU can't host. If I remember correctly, they're pretty much locked into the 4th seed. A chance at a 3 seed. It would take an absolute miracle for a 2 seed.

Sac State shat the bed this evening.

I'm predicting that the Griz host....and that EWU, Sac State or NAU wins it all. :thumb:

My bad, I totally f'd up working off the premise NAU only had 4 conf losses.

I wish the Big Sky decided ties by RPI or aggregate score between teams if head to heads are tied. It sucks if we end in a thee way tie that we get eliminated solely by having one extra loss to the top teams despite equal number of wins. In other words, we'd get dinged for losing to Sac State even though that is a much better loss than their loss to Southern Utah.

You don't want the league to look at head-to-head as the first tie break???

Now admittedly, the bsc schedule is a huge cluster fu(k, (but what isn't with the bsc?) but that's no reason to change the tie break rules that nearly every sane conference uses. Change the bsc leadership instead.

Notice I said *if* the head to heads are tied.

Head to head is a good tie breaker but its tough in the Big Sky, especially this year, when right now you have three teams tied for first, when Eastern played both of them Twice, but Sac and UM only played each other once. Eastern gets screwed because they played one more game than the other two against the top 3. Montana gets screwed because they played one less game against the top 3, but their only game against Sac was AT sac. Sac is the one who benefits most. We can't really change it with the amount of teams in the Big Sky though....

I'm probably wrong, but if both EWU and UM win on Saturday as they should, and Sac loses to NAU as they should, that would leave EWU and UM tied for first, and Sac and NAU tied for second. Head to head still leaves us tied with the Griz, so it would go to record against the conference starting with 3rd place. Since Sac and NAU would be tied, they would do the same, but record against 5th place. So hopefully Sac wins that tie break because the Griz are 0-1 against them, and we are 1-1, thus we host.

Obviously, if Sac beats NAU, they host.

First things first, let's beat Weber. Go Eags!

EDIT: If Mvemjsunpx is correct, then both the Griz and Hornets need to lose for us to host.
*edit* - I was mistaken in the above paragraphs. If UM wins & Sac loses, the Griz host. I thought that EWU split with NAU when they actually went 0-1. The tiebreaking procedure has returned to the system of 5-or-so years ago where, when looking at tied common opponents, you look at records against those teams collectively. That means, if EWU & UM tie at 14-4 while Sac & NAU tie at 13-5, the Griz would win the tiebreaker because they're 1-1 against the 3rd. place tie while EWU is 1-2.

That is correct.

Do you have your own forum you could patrol?

Yep. And I do. Along with a number of eastern fans.

Did I upset you by posting that information from an eastern fan was correct? If so, I'm terribly sorry and will try to keep those type of comments in the smack section from now on.

You didn't upset me in the least. Just would prefer you get bent. We don't need you here on our forum providing useless info and replies... Run along hick.

Well, you're about as welcoming as the fans in that "stadium" of yours. No wonder this board is a ghost town and all the eastern fans post at eGriz (where 99% of them are civil and more than welcome).

Jump a Horizon flight to Missoula for the tourney. I think you'll be amazed at the fans genuine hospitality there.

I hear flying Horizon requires bringing your own goggles.....is it true you have to sit on the wing???

Damn nice airline, and as part of Alaska, based here in Seattle, I fly them 20-30 times a year for work, and love it. And they give out free craft beer on board. And even better, they have a GRIZ plane. :thumb:

You have to join the jet age.....I know it may be a new concept in Montana but it really is quite common in the rest of the world....You ought to try it....

Ummm, Horizon isn't a Montana airline. It's a Seattle airline. And they fly a great deal in California as well, including to and from Sacto. Although why anyone would want to go there is a mystery without explanation. I can certainly see why they'd want to fly FROM there, however.
