It's Time for Higgins

Cam Higgins needs to step up and be the team leader he's supposed to be. He needs to stop the stupid INT's and fumbles.

I'm feeling he breaks out tommoro at ISU. Lets say 350 yrds passing with no INTs.

Cam, cmon man!!

I agree, if Weber is going to do anything in the remaining five games, CAM has to be the leader. Yesterday, you could tell, he wasn't ready to play. He's got to bring it every week. Weber still has a chance if they can play tough and win out. I think a lot of that depends on Cameron Higgins. I for one don't want to see him leave thinking he could have done better. I want him to leave knowing he did his best, played his best, and left it all on the field. Also, I really want the records back in the hands of a Weber State player. No matter, he deserves those records. He deserves to play in the playoffs one final time, and he has earned the right to end his career in the best possible light. But for these things to happen, he has to be the one to finish. He is too good of a player and a guy. Whatever is going on, he needs to change something.

Higgins has never recovered from the losses of Malei, Nakamura, Smith, and Toone. Even last year when
we had two of these guys we seemed miles ahead of where we are now. Last year we laid 49 on Sac St. With ease, can't even imagine that this year. Higgins is as good as his WR's and others around him. Look at what a joke the TDS looks like without Unga,Tonga,Pitta,A.George, and they have the #1 Recruited Qback in all of America, and moved the ball 13 yds In the first half yesterday against TCU, and all of a sudden they are 2-5. Truth be told it was the "OTHERS" that were great in '08, and probably not as much Higgins.

I hate to say it, but my confidence in Higgins's ability to win games for us is diminishing by the week, In all honesty I wanted Mcbride to put Higgins on the bench vs the Bengals, Let Hoke play and send a message to Higgins.

Im not sure whether or not I even want Higgins to start against the Vikings, and I hope at the end of the year our oc gets fired, Im tired of the run plays that get 2-3 yards on 3rd and 10+.

Ya gotta admit the receivers havn't been all that great. I can also see that some of the INTs aren't Higgins fault. Higgins made a great decision to run for the TD in the first half. You gotta wonder "whats he thinking" alot though. A guy with all that experience and stats. I don't know the answer.

You don't bench a QB who has been starting for three and a half years. A QB who is primed to break every established Big Sky passing record. The winningest QB in Weber State history. There are other factors hurting Higgins. The established game plans have been bad, except for the BC game, their are two SR receivers who haven't been exactly perfect, and most importantly, the OC is beyond BAD. Seriously, what is with the draw play? Weber ran that play at least 15 times yesterday. After the first series, I totally could call every play. Weber has become too predictable. In the second half, the play calling was mundane, perfunctory, unimaginative, and boring. Most of the second half, the plays being called were the wrong type of play for which the situation called for, and most importantly, the plays were poorly executed. THAT IS COACHING. Also, whats with the RUN first mentality?? 45 rushes yesterday for an average of 3 yards per carry, and Weber continues to do it. Out of the three backs, only one has been somewhat successful, yet, he only gets 9-10 touches a game?? Seriously?? As for Cam, he threw the ball 33 times. At halftime he had almost 150 yards. However, In the second half, he never could get into a rythmn. You could tell that there was absolutely no sync to the passing game. The timing between Cam and the receivers was really off, and instead of mixing up the plays or going to other receivers, weber keeps running draw plays that were getting 2-4 yards per carry. ONE PASS TO THE TE for 14 was the best pass play of the 2nd half. Its almost like the OC is trying too hard to establish a running game. To the point, that he is hurting, almost killing the passing game. Weber should be using the Pass to open up the rush. Also, with 13mins to go, Weber shouldn't be sitting on the ball with only a 3pt lead. The whole point of the game is to SCORE the most points. Keep moving the ball, and scoring points. I'm getting really sick of watching Weber run the ball for 13 mins. It seems like the Cats are playing not to lose, rather than playing to WIN.

Collins is a good receiver. He runs good routes, and has a decent attitude, but he has dropped to many balls. Philips, good grief, I don't know why he hasn't learned the plays yet. He isn't a timing guy. He has always been a 15+ yardage guy. Great speed, decent hands, yet, he runs the routes poorly.

I think to many of us expect to much of Higgins. There are 11 players on the field, if they aren't all pulling their load then its hard for them to be successful. Higgins shouldn't be totally blamed for all of the issues. Yes, he has made a few interesting decisions, but the team as a whole hasn't been playing that well.

Higgins needs to relax and let the game come to him. You can tell he is trying to hard.

STOP BLAMING HIGGINS!! He isn't the problem. The problem is Hammer. The dude isn't suited to be an Offensive Coordinator. He struggled last year, and instead of getting better he has gotten a lot worse. I think yesterday should be the last time he calls plays for Weber.

I was out of town for the EWU game, and caught the 2nd half via radio. So my question is Were Higgins 2 Redzone endzone picks his fault or did 1 bounce off of Collins or somebody's hands first? Anybody know?

The 1st one was probably his fault, but the second was not his fault, I think they said the TE lined up in the wrong spot and then to make it worse ran the wrong route taking the LB into the spot Higgins was supposed to throw to a wide out crossing.

Never the less, I think we can all agree the turnovers have got to stop, especially in our redzone.

just like 50% of Higgin's interceptions this year, 1 of the 2 picks against EWU was one where it bounced out of the hands of a WSU receiver.

as much hate has higgins gets he had a lot less picks bouncing off receivers hands last yr. partly because TOONE always caught everything.

after cam graduates everyone will saying i can't believe we said anything bad about him n be willing to give anything to have him back. no one will follow up higgins and look good. feel free to quote me on that for the next 20 yrs.

higgins as well as our oline's pass blocking needs more credit. it has been outstanding for 3 yrs.

Is 12,000 yards passing and 100 TD passes considered good? nah, i'd rather have pizzaro back too.

i wish there was a way to know how many picks this yr have been from receivers running wrong routes or balls bouncing off their chests.
