Montana State has looked quite impressive so far in the season. This game should be a really great test for the Cats. There isn't much of a margin of error for the Cats in any Big Sky games this year, so lets hope that Weber comes out strong and aggressive and is able to put away the Bobcats to remain atop the Big Sky standings.

Montana State has played extremely well on the road this season with wins at Long Beach, Oregon State, and Colorado. Granted, Oregon State and Colorado aren't the greatest teams on earth, but still its pretty impressive to go into a Pac-10 or Big 12's home and pull off a W. Montana State, in my opinion, wasn't suppose to be this good this year, they must have an excellent coaching staff. The addition of a number of JC's, definitely has helped the Bobcats regroup and rebuild for this season, not to mention Mbunga in the paint. This game should be one of the best home games of the season. MSU and Weber always play each other tough, and MSU always competes to the last second.

Can't wait for this game - should be a good one. So far this season, our success has hinged on our defense and the ability to shut other teams down. If it becomes a scoring fest, you'll blow our doors off. If we can hold you to around 60 points, we have a chance. Things to watch from my Bobcats Thursday night:

-- Free throw shooting: so far we have been horrid this season. On a good night, we barely can hit 70% from the stripe.
-- 3 point attempts: we've been living and dying by 'em. Our perimeter game is definitely suspect.
-- Interior play: Mbunga has been good this season and hopefully will have a big day against WSU. He's not been rebounding as well this season however.
-- Bobby Howard: if he's hot, you guys could be in trouble. If he's cold, don't even worry about guarding him.
-- Will Bynum: defensive star. Hopefully can get a few steals and take your guards out of play.

You guys definitely have the advantage, playing at home and with a huge win against PSU under your belts. Should be a fun one!

MSU is one of the best teams in the Big Sky this year...then again I think everyone is minus Sac St.

We need good crowds to help vs the Montanas this week!

You might be reaching to say my boys in blue & gold are one of the best teams in the conference, but I am an awful lot like you in the fact that I think the scariest team in the conference is the one that we are facing next! It's gonna take a minor miracle for the Bobcats to win at Ogden tomorrow night; in fact there's a real good chance we may come off this weekend's road swing 0-2 after we play a pretty good ISU team Saturday night in Pocatello. I have always said that if you can get a split on the road in Big Sky play, you're doing pretty good. At the beginning of the season, I pegged PSU to be league favorite with guys a close second. I think that has definitely been switched now, and you guys are now the ones with the target on your backs. Sure wish I could come see the game as I have never seen a game at the Dee Center, but have always heard it's a great environment to watch a b-ball game!

*edit* I could have sworn I typed in Pocatello in my post, but it came up potatoville. Is that intentional??

LOL

Ya, we like to make fun of ISU so naturally it isn't possible to spell the city Idaho State is in on this board unless of course you misspell it!

We have a few funny replacements, that is one of them.

I really think every team is good minus Sac...the 'Sky has improved.

ISUSuperFan, if you see this sorry! It's just playful hate'n!

That's awesome!! We need to do something like that on Bobcat Nation when you type in Missoula or griz!!

Hey old skool cat you are more than welcome to come to Ogden and have a good time. We will treat you right. Whether it is for B-ball or Football.

I am planning on coming down for football this coming season. I am trying to get to all the Big Sky football venues (something I just started just recently) and will be traveling to Ogden as well as Cheney in 2009. For the most part, I have always found fans of opposing teams to be very gracious. I am very much looking forward to my trip to Ogden this fall!!

10 more free throws...HMMMMM. Thats the most suspect stat on the Box Score. Everything else was fine. Unfortunately, the Cats didn't play as aggressive as the needed to, but not only did they have to battle the Bobcats they also had to play against the refs. Who is the old man? He needs to retire! He called one thing (a travel) on MSU. Everything else was called on Weber. No matter...Weber still had a chance to win. I'm still scratching my head over the foul with 18.5 seconds left. If you are going to foul, make sure the foul happens with the most time left. Oh well...in the midst of the insanity, in Rahe we trust. Why wont the team play with the aggression of the final min for most of the game? If the Cats played that hard for the entire game, nobody could play with them. Oh Well... UM on Sat. No matter, MSU played a great game. There team is solid and young. Should be a great rivalry for the next few years between us and the Bobcats. I feel badly for our team...they got stuck with the "we are at home bug," and didn't make the plays consistently. 40mins... I hope the fans come back. Ogden is pretty fickle...

Montana State looked much better than I was expecting. They had some big (and fat) boys, and they knocked down timely three's when they needed to. They had a small team (only 11 guys traveled to Ogden) but every guy played. I kept expecting Weber to make a run at the end, but the Bobcats never went away.

On the plus side, the beanies were kind of cool, except they had that gay logo on the back on them. Makes me excited to get a hat on Saturday...to see what company's logo will be plastered all over it.

It will be my former employers logo, PETERSEN INC.

Great game last night - very competitive and clean basketball! Believe me, nobody is more surprised than me that my Bobcats were able to pull out a "W" last night at the Dee. I posted earlier in the week that MSU is typically a poor free throw shooting team, and that was the difference last night. Most of the stats for both squads were pretty even excepts for FTs - we just made ours when we needed them. I also made a note to keep an eye on Bobby Howard, as our fortunes usually go the way he's playing. He had a good night, and the Bobcats played good defensively, just as I thought they would. MSU has been a really good road team this season; in fact they have probably better on the road than at home. Winning in Ogden is extremely difficult; I'll take a win there any time and view this as one of the highlights of our season.

With all that said, do not stray Wildcat fans!!! You're team is great, and when it's all said and done, I still think it will come down to you guys and PSU for the conference title. You guys will bounce back and put a hurtin' on the griz Saturday night. Can't wait to see you in Bozeman - for some reason it scares me a little, as the word "revenge" comes to mind!
