Jan 8: Portland State

Thursday's game in Portland might be the biggest game of the season so far for the Cats. Portland State has looked impressive, but I think the Cats can beat the Vikings. It will take an incredible effort from the Cats, but they have the potential and ability to beat PSU. When the Cats are slashing and penetrating there is little an opposing team can do to slow them down. When they play aggressive defense they completely shut down opposing teams.

This is obviously a big game for both teams. It looks like PSU and WSU have very similar personnel so it will come down to which team brings the most energy and then executes. If PSU doesn't bring either than we will get beat and as we all know, losing any conference games at home is nearly fatal for winning the conference. PSU is not the type of team that can roll the ball out on the floor and just get a win. We have to earn everything. Weber State has all the tradition. PSU, not so much.

PSU is a really good team this year....again!

I run WeberHoops.com, it was really interesting to see how great the two teams matchup...lots of similarities in the players and the size. Should be a fun game to watch.

PSU fans,

Don't forget about Heath Schroyer...he did a lot for the program and Bone is a good coach but I don't think the program would be this far along without the help of Heath.

Look what he is already doing at WYO in his second year.

Up 31 to 30 at the half! Team is playing pretty good, they just need to guard the perimeter a little better. The zone they're running has confused PSU a little. Weber just needs to play a little less sloppy and maybe force a few turnovers. Looking forward for the 2nd half. Go Cats!

80-66 Cats!

Another hot shooting night and a GREAT performance by Bullinger.

What is this about the Rose Garden? Hmm, perhaps it could be between the Rose Garden and the Dee this year.

GO CATS!

80-66 for the Good Guys. Another awesome win. So much for this conference being a one-hourse race.

I am officially a fan of Big Sky tv, but I wish I could figure out how to mute the audio feed so I could listen to Wildcat Carl on my computer while I watch the game. I got tired of the PSU radio feed real quick, so I had to turn the sound all the way down on the computer and turn on an old-fashioned AM radio.

This was the first time I watched the game on big sky tv, and I too was happy that I could enjoy watching the game live. Wow, what a game!! They pulled together, and K-Boll had his best game so far! And I didn't know that the Vikings played in the local girls high school gym  Bring on the rest of the Big Sky!

I was in the dentist office getting a root canal done... YIKES!!! But I asked the dentist to turn it to 1430 KLO so I could listen to the game. He turned it to 1430 and I was smiling the whole time. Pure Sweetness!!! 8-)

Bigsky TV is freaking awesome. I only had one problem in the middle of the second half. It went out for just a little bit. The game cast was clear, and the man on the mic was good, even in timeouts. Bull is the man, and Illiard is a blast as well. What a great team, 16-0

Does Portland State have an inside game? They shot 35 3pt Att. yesterday... Excellent game for the CATS! Its crazy knowing that there are six, maybe seven, guys on the team that at any given time could go off for 20. Bull was on fire last night! One thing that I really liked, was how the Cats passed the ball, and also, how the team moved on offense. Defensively...Well, they held the Vikings to one FG in the last 4:37 of the game, need I say more, and the Cats caused 15 PSU TO's.
