There is nothing wrong with playing pro ball in Canada, I've been a fan since Warren Moon played in Edmonton. Having said that, I have no doubt JC Sherritt will play in the NFL barring injury. As all Eagle fans know, he has a way of finding the football that any defense could use. Defending the pass is huge in Canada with the larger field so the skills he's honing now will help him make the NFL.

Thought the link below would help you kill time while we all wait for kickoff in Moscow. Vandals are favored by 7, sounds about right to me. I think we win by 6. Our defense will step up but our kicking game will be the difference.

Sherritt focused on one thing

“Awards are always great honours and those are cool to get, but I learned in college it’s about the trophy at the end of the year. It might sound cliché, but I promise I would trade every award I’ve ever won for a championship. That’s how I’ve always been since I was little – addicted to winning.”

Had to include the quote above too. Every member of the EAA should take pride in helping JC and all our other scholarship athletes at EWU. We have some bumps along the way but we do it right in Cheney.

Yeah, with the way he's been dominating, I also have no doubt he'll get a shot at the NFL. Keep it up JC! :notworthy:

If Sherritt maintains his current pace in getting tackles and making plays, it's hard to imagine him not winning a Defensive Player of the Year award at the end of the season.

More than that though, it’s likely that so far he’s been his own team’s most valuable player, with the Esks looking to challenge as a contender this season, in large because of their defensive dominance.

It's quite possible that at this rate, Sherritt could get some mention as a candidate for the league's Most Outstanding Player award at the end of the season - a feat that would be quite rare given the prestigous award's history of being given to offensive players.

He has been the top player on defense the 1st half of the season.Best LB in the CFL.Only other guy close is Adam Bighill of central washington.

(Edmonton) Eskimo middle linebacker JC Sherritt has set a new team record for defensive tackles in a season.

In Montreal on Sunday, the second to last game of the season, Sherritt registered his 118th tackle of 2012. He passed middle linebacker Willie Pless, who set a record of 117 in 1998.

Sherritt is now chasing the CFL record of 129 set by Calvin Tiggle of the Toronto Argonauts in 1994.

Last year’s Western Nominee for Rookie of the Year, this season JC has been named Defensive Player of the Week three times and Player of the Month for July, August and September.
