• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Jerome Souers

NAU to part ways with Souers, longest tenured coach in Big Sky

Well this just came out of nowhere, why not wait to see what happens as the year progresses? Now they have this announcement that kinda becomes a distraction that will hang over the NAU football team for the remainder of the year. NAU should have waited.

Maybe they just wanted to be honest with their players and recruits. They may already have a replacement coach that wants to be able to tell recruits that he is the guy they will be signing with. :coffee:

There could be a number of factors contributing to Jerome's decision to retire. He hasn't been in the best of health and that could be the reason. There could also be a number of other reasons too. No matter, he has always kept the Lumberjacks competitive and tough. It is definitely an end of an era.

Souers will now return for 2018 season

After trying to force Souers out earlier in the season the NAU AD is back-peddling pretty hard now. Heard the AD down in Flag isn't very popular and a lot of boosters are looking for reasons to see a new person in that position.

The AD already left to take the AD job at Tx-San Antonio. That's why Souers is coming back.

Didn't know that. Thank you for the information. That is a good thing for NAU.
