Jerseys/Helmets unveiled

Here's the Standard-Examiner's slideshow of the Big Sky summer kickoff. Mike Hoke modeled the new uniforms and helmet. I like that WSU went back to the all purple and got away from those trendy black uniforms, but I still think these new ones look kinda crappy. Looks as if WSU used a Microsoft Word font to do the jersey stuff. The helmet logo is an improvement from the shield, I suppose... Meh. :|

I think the jersey looks pretty high schoolish. The font on the front is pretty cartoonish and not very professional. The same goes for the scratch marks on the shoulders. I'm not even really sure how that makes Weber State look good if they're the ones getting clawed.

I can live with the claw marks I guess so that the jersey isn't too plain, but I would have liked them to use their new script: http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=q88eergez66ch8iswque3rkxz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I like them - especially the helmets. Lettering and claw marks on jerseys are different than the standard stuff that everyone uses - and I think that's a good thing - sets us apart. Just have to get used to it. Think we'll be all white on the road, and purple jerseys and white pants at home?

I hope not. I hope they get purple pants. White on purple for road and purple on white for home. Also I hope they wear black for the blackout game... But probably not likely.

Now that our uniforms are no longer black, will we even have blackout games anymore?

It's not like the "black out" games were super successful anyway.

I'm told the athletic department is not at all happy with them either. It appears as if they are trying to shove all the blame on to John L. Smith, saying he demanded the uniforms be this way and Bovee acts as if they had no say or choice in it at all. Also, to make matters worse, it's on a contract, so they are stuck with this shit for three seasons. :thumbdown:

This is why I use this message board. Apparently some of you have some pretty good connections that have insider information. I didn't know it was possible to hate John L. Smith more than I already did. I'm already used to cheering against the Razorbacks (my favorite NFL team is the Falcons, the team Bobby Petrino bailed on to coach Arkansas), so at least it won't be anything too new for me.

I dont mind the Jersey, or the look of the helmet, the only thing I dont like about them is the white pants. I think they could have at least put the logo or like the claw on the pants.

Am I the only one who thinks that the lettering on the front of the jersey look hauntingly similar to the writing on the Harold the Show Eddie Gill days basketball jersey's?

edit: NO, I just looked them up and they really aren't similar
