Jimmy Lake

Now that Jimmy Lake is no longer coaching the Huskies maybe he'd come back and help out his alma mater
I can think of 9.9 million reasons why not too :)

Kinda scary how quick big programs expect you to get results. Neither Washington nor Washington State coaches lasted two seasons. Both had their respective schools actually sending negative media reports on them to justify quick firings. Who wants to be a part of a program that does shit like that? It's one thing to fire a guy because it isn't working, it's quite another to actively try to destroy their character. Very low class and shame on both schools.

Jimmy Lake, has agreed in principle to an unpaid defensive advisory role with Mario Cristobal, as the Oregon Ducks zero in on a CFP run. His buyout 9.9 mill buyout will be paid monthly for next 36 months...thats 275k a month minus any compensation thus advisory unpaid...for now..

Is that for real? If so, that's a great move by Oregon. The guy knows defense. Getting him free of charge would be an absolute stick in UW's eye.

The weirdest thing of all is that it sounds like Justin Wilcox from Cal is the leading candidate at UW. He's sub-.500, and is getting incrementally worse each year. If you fire someone, the logic would be to upgrade your head coach, not take a guy who hasn't had success at the same level and trying to be mediocre each year.

Wow if true he just became public enemy #1 in Seattle area...the ducks are most hated rival....
Smart for him though

The cupboard wasn't bare at UW. Lake did take over from Peterson and Lake had a hand in recruiting the players on the roster. It looked like quite a few Husky players have hit the portal lately. Not sure if it's more than other big programs, I just noticed due to proximity to Eastern.

Interesting. I’m wondering if any of them are looking to stay in the area and going to a great program without having to sit out for a year.

Had a couple listed on this thread : https://bigskyfans.com/eagles/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6982

Since Lake took over the Husky's I counted 19 portal transfers +/- That seems like a lot, plus we wouldn't know who just dropped out altogether (which happens).

BTW Clawman, one of the recent transfers in the portal is the Kicker ;-) The portal on 247 rolls over in June so you have to look at both 2021 and 2022 years to get the full picture.

Not sure he had many other options to be honest. What he was did was stupid. I’ve never really been drawn to the guy personally. He always struck me as the type of guy who was too “Big time” to be associated with his own alma mater.
