Jody Sears and Sac St

Interesting read about Jody Sears and the Sac St program and how 72 players have left the program since 2014. Apparently Sears has a thing against players wearing grills. Some of the players that have left have good talent and have moved on to FBS programs. Yet, Sears has been rather successful there. Makes me think that if Sac could ever get a top quailty coach they could be the strongest program in the conference.

Is Sacramento State’s Offensive Coordinator any good? Where did they rank in the Big Sky in offense?

Former Eastern Washington and Washington State head coach Paul Wulff was Sac State's offensive coordinator the last two seasons. Sac led the league in scoring offense two years ago during a 7-4 season.

Because of a rash of injuries (namely to senior quarterback Kevin Thomson) and dysfunction across the roster, Sac averaged 24.1 points per game in 2018, 12th in the Big Sky.

Troy Taylor, Utah's OC, has been hired to replace Sears. I'd imagine he's taking a significant pay cut.

Taylor made $525,000 base at Utah. He will make around $180,000 in base at Sac State.

Wow, that would be quite an upgrade. I think it’s worth making the move.
