This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

On Nov 11 (25 days ago) I posted here: "stop all the speculation. John L. Smith will be the new coach at Weber!" No one responded to my post at all... except one who posted two videos titled "this John L. Smith!" I took them as a slam against John L. and a rebuttal to my declaration... Always nice to be right!!! :bad: :bad:

I posted the videos because they're funny as hell, not as a slam on John L or your post. John L, as Weber fans will soon find out, is a high energy, intense dude who will make you laugh your ass off. I never questioned the seriousness of John L being a candidate, nor did anyone else. Props to you for calling it so early on.baller said:

:thumb: I have always thought it would be nice if John L came home. He was playing when I attended WSC and I have followed his carreer through the years. I have always thought Ogden would be a great place for him to settle down. I hope he has a long and fruitful stay with us. With everything the program has going for us, I think John L can hit the ground running. I am excited for the football team and program. I think that we have been extreemly lucky to have had the oportunity to hire Ronny Mac and now John L. Goooooo Wildcatttts!! :thumb:

John L. is a great coach who, I believe will take Weber to the next level. Mac and John L. HATED each other when Mac was at the U and John L. was at USU, I know that.

Not trying to be a doosh here, but...Weber has been competing for Big Sky crowns. The Cats were really only three or four plays away from getting a playoff spot. :nod:

John L. always ran a one back offense, did alot of passing. On defense, he ran a "flex" scheme. Fun football to watch. In my opinion, a better coach than McBride. He is a good recruiter, too. He does take chances on some kids and you may have some minor discipline problems, though.

Great hire.
My guess is that John and Mac will get along fine. What happened 15 years ago should be water under the bridge for these guys. Both have had successful careers and I think Mac will still be involved and want to be part of the program at some level. I doubt John L. will let Mac be involved with the coaching part of things, but I think Mac will be involved with helping the players in life (school work, being a friend, mentor, etc...). And if John L. has half a brain (which I think he does), he will allow Mac to remain part of the program and interact with the players in the academic lounge and even on the practice field.
Heck if George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton can be friends now, I think Mac and John L. can be friends too.
