Lets all be honest, the reason we all love Joker is the fact that it got the crowd into the game right away. Before Joker, "Rock You Like a Hurrican" did an admirable job. Yet, since Joker, there hasn't been a good introductory song. I don't mind not having Joker as the introductory song, but it does need to be played more often along with better music during timeouts. Yes, like each of you, I read Joe's letter. I call BS, to a lot of it, but we have to give him credit. He was the one who found Joker and started playing it (I don't get why we still have to listen to "Cotton Eye Joe" every game. To me that is proof that he has a lot of control over the music.) Anyway, for me, I'm looking forward to hearing music that gets the crowd excited right away and keeps us in the game. "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" isn't cutting it. Also, what the hell is up with all of the promotions. YIKES!! Too many. Play music, have the dancers do their thing (they need to be cognizant of what type of music they are using too), get the band more involved.
I like the idea of the video, introductions, and then turning up the music, however, it hasnt been done right yet. The video needs to be updated BADLY...I'm sorry, I don't get excited about seeing highlights from our beatdowns of NAIA teams. Also, can the lights be turned down for the video and introductions? To me the video, introductory music, and lighting are all crucial to setting the mood.
