Joker and Thief Campaign

Okay, I know this subject is kind of getting old and never seems to die. But one thing seems clear, most of us on here want Joker and the Thief back! So here is the plan. Every game day, post something about how it's game day on your social network pages and then post a link to a youtube clip of Joker and the Thief. Also, we can start posting links to it on all the Weber State facebook pages.

Look at the crowd after Joker and the Thief was played. They were up and rowdy. The stupid DJ should realize that this song needs to be played every freaken game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're really not not playing that song, are they? Seriously, it's the best tradition we have going.

I personally own LOTS of "stadium music". I have also reviedtons that I don't own but feeek would be awesome stadium/crowd pumpers. To this day, Joker and the thief is THE BEST crowd pumping song I have ever heard in any arena. Isn't it funny that we were thprobably the 1st to use it as such and then began what was hopefully an incredible traditon. Most arenas have an "IDENTITY" with their crowd pumper...i.e. Energy salutions Arena plays the same player intro song and has for years. What about the Chicago Bulls? The list goes on and on.
The D.E/C. is the only arena that i know of WITHOUT a Musical Identity. It seems the only I.D. we do have is to change the inro song/tipoff song every year. WHAT A CROCK!
Here's what I propose: Keep passing out the newspares to all the students to read during visiting team intro time for the entire season...with one caveat....on the back side of the newspaper(facing our wannabe stadium DJ) a sign that says: PLAY JOKER AND THE THIEF! HAVE ONE PLANT NEAR THE DJ TO "ACT SURPRISED" OMG...LOOK! :yikes: AND POINT IT OUT TO THE DJ. If it takes more than 1 game to get his attention...so be it but repeat this for every home game until he plays it for the tipoff song.
I have heard rumors that he stopped playing it at the beginning of games because he "thought" it was getting old. :wtf: :stupid: :lame: :die: :flag: Hell, The National Anthem is older than Joker aND THE THIEF AND WE STILL PLAY IT!

GOD bless our troops, our team, rock and roll, and WOLF MOTHER!!

I am Born2BleedPurpleGuy and I approve of this posting.

Done and done. :protesst:

Lets all be honest, the reason we all love Joker is the fact that it got the crowd into the game right away. Before Joker, "Rock You Like a Hurrican" did an admirable job. Yet, since Joker, there hasn't been a good introductory song. I don't mind not having Joker as the introductory song, but it does need to be played more often along with better music during timeouts. Yes, like each of you, I read Joe's letter. I call BS, to a lot of it, but we have to give him credit. He was the one who found Joker and started playing it (I don't get why we still have to listen to "Cotton Eye Joe" every game. To me that is proof that he has a lot of control over the music.) Anyway, for me, I'm looking forward to hearing music that gets the crowd excited right away and keeps us in the game. "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" isn't cutting it. Also, what the hell is up with all of the promotions. YIKES!! Too many. Play music, have the dancers do their thing (they need to be cognizant of what type of music they are using too), get the band more involved.

I like the idea of the video, introductions, and then turning up the music, however, it hasnt been done right yet. The video needs to be updated BADLY...I'm sorry, I don't get excited about seeing highlights from our beatdowns of NAIA teams. Also, can the lights be turned down for the video and introductions? To me the video, introductory music, and lighting are all crucial to setting the mood.

What about using the spotlights? there are quite a few of them around the top of the Dee, but are never used what gives? lets put them bad boys to work

After the lights turn off they take too long to warm back up and turn back on, like longer than 10 minutes, and shutters are a project that is being looked into for next season
