• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Jordan Brown Dreams?

One of the most highly touted players to ever come out of the Sacramento area is in the Transfer Portal again.
Was a 5* McDonalds All-American in 2018 that chose to play for Nevada. Then transferred to Arizona after his FR season due to playing time and coach M leaving for Arkansas. Though extremely unlikely, playing time for a big man of his caliber is something that coach Katz and co has plenty of! One can dream right?

Pac12 6th man of the year last season even though he played limited minutes. At the BSC level, he's a walking 20-10 with a couple of blocks in there. The Big Sky can send you to the league if you're talented enough and can prove it (I.e: Damian Lillard / Rodney Stuckey). If Katz can make that pitch, the Hornets could be looking at their first ever NCAA Tournament bid and the D1 level. :coffee:

I would cry tears of joy and buy 4 season tickets. Lol

They definitely reached out the last time he hit the portal.

For him, if he goes to another blue blood, then he'd be stuck in the same position he is in now. 20 mins or so and just another rotation guy. Playing on another program like that, even with a little bit more minutes won't increase his draft stock. His best bet now is go down to a mid-major (Lousinana-Lafayette might be in contention), and completely dominated. 25-12-3 kind of domination. He'd be back on a lot of draft boards (probably the second rounds) if he does so. If he goes home, either us or across the Causeway, he might get a waiver to play right away. He can't afford to sit another year following his red-shirt year.

Do we know if Esposito is going to use the COVID year and come back in 2021/2022? I think they can return if they want to, but haven’t seen a lot of Seniors in CBB saying they’ll be back.

Esposito is good enough to play overseas. Another year here doesn't change that and would just burn up a year of his earning potential. Fowler is probably in the same boat. I don't expect either of them to return.

On the women’s transfer side, Campbell just signed the #3 ranked National recruit from the class of 2018. Easily the highest ranked player (out of HS) to ever commit to Sac State, in any sport, ever.

She was going through some tough times personally. She’s pretty public about it so you can read it on Twitter. She’s a Sac native, went to powerhouse Baylor, transferred to LMU last year and never really joined the team. And here she is. Let’s see where this takes us...

So Esposito is done, he’s gonna try to play overseas
Brandon Davis is also done even though he was RS JR
Fowler and Fitzpatrick are coming back to cash in their bonus year

PG Highler
SG Fitzpatrick
SF Fowler
PF Komagum
C Brown

Looks like a BSC Championship to me! Lol

lol! I'd say:

G Zach Chappell
G Fitzpatrick
F Fowler
F Jones
C Brown (realistically, Komagum)

I don't know why Katz and Co. just stacks up the team with 6-2 and under guards across the board. I know it's difficult to recruit 6-7 and up Forwards at the low major level but to have only one player over 6-8, that's just tough. At some point, "heart over height" can only go so far in basketball. The staff might be not be able to offer flashy amenities, but playing time is still one of the most valuable amenity at the Division 1 level.

I forgot about Chappell - if he’s healthy, he’s our best PG/SG IMO.

Yeah, we’re looking Komagum at the five, with Jones and Hector mixed in at the 4.

Jordan Brown committed to UL-Lafayette for those that were wondering... Yuck...
