Journal story on McKay Cannon...

The basketball player from Shelley now at Weber State is featured on the sports page of the Journal today.

But did you know his Mom, Jennifer, was an all first team Big Sky basketball selection when she played at ISU in the early 90's? In addition one year she was the Big Sky Conference's scholar-athlete award winner and twice was named the Big Sky Player of the Week. If that wasn't enough she was married and living in Shelley...so she traveled to Pocatello every day for school, practices and games. Don't know how she could have done that and accomplished all that she did...remarkable.

Had the chance to meet her a few years ago when she returned to Reed Gym for Seton's ISU's alumni basketball game.

Nice lady and from what I've been told she could really play the game.

Thanks for pointing that out PBP. It's fun to learn of all the great talent and people in this area. McKay was talked about very highly by the announcers of how he was playing in the NCAA tournament game. He really pit it out there. Fun to see the talent.
