First night of the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas.

First game of the night features Central Michigan vs Cal State Bakersfield at 4pm

The 2nd game features our Wildcats as they face off with San Jose State of the Mountain West at 6:30pm.

Games are available to watch on Flohoops.com if you are willing to pay for it. As for me, I think I'll stick to the radio for this one.

Cats are 1-1 on the season and are coming off a drubbing of Bethesda. San Jose State is 1-1 as well and are coming off a 66-59 home loss to SUUCKS.

Looking for the Cats to win this one though it may be closer than some on here might think.

None of these schools will improve our NCAA resumé, but early-season out of conference wins are still a big deal, for overall record and team morale. Go Wildcats!

A much better half today than our game vs USD, hopefully the Cats can keep it up in the 2nd half. A lot of calls in this game making it kinda hard to listen to (Im not paying for the streaming service). But the Cats winning makes it a little more tolerable. Glad to see Harding is back, Braxton in foul trouble early again, but we seem to be playing well without him.

Keep it up Cats, win tonight and we play Central Michigan tomorrow. The Chippewas beat Cal State Bakersfield 67-55 earlier today.

85-77 final Wildcats win. Had a hard time getting shots to fall there in the 2nd half of the 2nd half. But a win is a win. Now on to Central Michigan.

Looking at the box scores of Weber State, they are constantly in the 12+ turnover range. Are they close to the top 10 nationally?

It’s one thing to turn it over that much and can rebound, but they consistently get out rebounded since Bolomboy left, especially on the offensive rebounds.

They sometimes have better shooting stats but lose the game as the other team has a lot more shots.

Here’s hoping they can fix that, but it seems like it never gets better.

Nice W tonight against a solid Central Michigan team. Israel Barnes hit a 3 at the buzzer giving the Wildcats the 78-76 win.

Teams ended up having the same amount of rebounds at the end of the game, though central did have quite a few offensive rebounds. That needs to be cleaned up

I tuned in a few times during the game. The turnovers let Central Michigan put some runs together, but the Wildcats always battled back.

Central Michigan is a good team, so that is a big confidence booster to close out a game like that by going on an 8-2 run to end the game...especially a buzzer beater being down one. Love Cody John making the unselfish play by drawing defenders to him and then kicking it out to Israel. Fun listening to Klauke calling it. Hope to see the game winner on YouTube or somewhere.

Thanks! What a shot! The defender had a hand in his face. Go Wildcats. Beat CSU Bakersfield and bring home the tourney trophy. What a weekend for Weber State!

It would have been perfect for a Weber State win in basketball tonight. Too bad they didn’t run the clock down at the end, and I still think it is worth entertaining the idea of fouling a team when up two with some time left to be able to take the last shot.

19 turnovers today...the bad trend continues. :bad:

Weber averages 12.2 assists per game and 14.8 turnovers per game this season. Weber had 10, 7, and 8 assists in the three games this weekend, and 17, 15, and 19 turnovers. Assists are a marker of how a team works together, and turnovers are a marker of how they don't work together. Got some work to do.

Turnovers and missed free throws will doom you every time. Team shows signs that they can be something special but still need a lot of work.

Going 2-1 at this tournament isn't bad news for the Cats. They beat a good Central Michigan team and got a W against a Mountain West team, regardless that that team is SJSU. Yes, losing to Baker isn't good; especially since the Cats were leading virtually the entire second half (classic Randy slow down...we've seen this before). Freebies, turnovers, rebounding, and the press did us in.

Frankly, the issue with Weber State Basketball are fundamentals, leadership and selfishness. Fundamentally Randy's teams are becoming worse. Yes, the talent level is good and purely based off of talent, Weber should win 20 games, and probably will. However, Wildcat Basketball isn't improving. The team struggles with simple fundamentals. Being in a stance, blocking out, etc. I know we have four freshmen playing a lot of mins, BUT Weber has a lot of experience back. The Cats returned 5 starters. 5 starters should not turn the ball over 19 times or end a game with anything below 10 assists. This team is very selfish and lacks leadership. It is a me first type of team. Losing Harding for a few games might actually help this team get better (I don't want him to be out long)...

They just sounded gassed. But you could also feel the "play not-to-lose" instead of the "play-to-win" thing kicking in. We scored our last points just after the 3 minute mark. Didn't get another point. Took bad shots, missed free throws and turned the ball over.

Would have been fun to go 3-0. And that might have put out a good message as to where this team was headed as I thought the competition was really solid. But I agree, there is a lot of work to be done. And TO's are highest on my list. I think we'll be a good FT shooting team as we usually are. And with John starting to hit 3's, I think we'll be ok there. We just can't turn the ball over 15 to 20 times a game.

Happy Thanksgiving to ya'all!
