St. Joseph’s Transfer Joins Eagle Program

With 45 games of NCAA Division I men’s basketball experience, Justin Crosgile will transfer from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa., to play at Eastern Washington University, new Eagle head coach Jim Hayford announced Tuesday (July 5).

Coming out of high school, Crosgile was ranked No. 24 in the nation among the class-of-2009 point guards by scout.com. He received offers from St. John's, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Maryland and Houston.

He’s super quick, and he can score,” Hayford said of Crosgile, who was named the North Jersey Player of the Year by three different newspapers after averaging 24.5 points per game as a high school senior.

He struggled last year, shooting about 31% overall and just 28% from downtown with some mediocre assist and turnover rates... but it certainly seems like he is a talented player with good athletic ability. It will be fun to see if he can put it together, especially with a year sitting out to help learn the college game better.
