Great news for the Viks. Love to see a lot of screen passes to Tremayne next season. Let's hope the other two are granted an extra year soon.

I wonder if this is goviks.com just trying to make more news than there is, kind of like announcing one coaching staff hire per day.

I guess you can read as much or as little into it as you want. I personally liked goviks.com announcing the coaches one per day, nonetheless, Kirkland receives another year and that is wonderful news.

Agreed. As many have said before, he should add some wrinkles to the offense that may include some time @ quarterback.

Awesome!!!!!! SB or Wideout next season?

How tall, fast is he?

5-11 165, 4.5 speed I believe, you would think SB.

It's hard to tell, I would have to see him in action before I could make a better decision! The outside guys are usually the taller, faster guys that stretch the defense. The slots are of the shorter, quicker guys that will have to be able to produce a lot of yac (yards after the catch.) I would say looking at those #'s he'd probably be a candidate to play on the outside.

I would agree but I think the corps will look like this(off the top of my head)

WR Reggie Jospeh 6-0 190
SB Kenneth Mackins 6-0 185
SB Tremayne Kirkland 5-11 165
WR Zach Tarver 6-5 215

Yeah now that I think about it could go either way

That's very possible! Remember, Mouse and JJ both run the R&S but Mouse may run it a different way than JJ. Mouse may want to try a bigger guy at slot to try and create mismatches when opposing defenses play man! It'll be intersting seeing how everything plays out, I'll tell you that.

Joseph and Kirkland are inside (slot) receivers.
Mackins is an outside guy plus Tarver is not all that he is made up to be. Smith and Thompson proved to be much more promising than the OSU transfer.

I agree, don't get to excited about Tarver.. He was overrated at Jesuit and OSU knows it now. I have scene him play many times and he is soft and slow.
