I like the additional exposure, but I wonder if it is going to lead to a decrease in attendance. I would imagine that Antelope Valley State probably looks better at home on TV than in person.

This is pretty sweet! What a deal. Hopefully, this will help get more interest in Weber State sports from the rest of the state. KJZZ not only covers Utah, but also, correct me if I'm wrong, parts of Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado?

Might not help, at first, get more butts in the seat, but it will potentially get more sponsors, media attention, and interest in fan support throughout the region. People will still go to the games. It is always better being at the game, but there are those fans who live too far away to go to a game on a week night and will keep them attached to the program. I like this move!! Hopefully athletics can capitalize off of this deal. I'm sure they will.

Interesting that they won't broadcast the SUU football game. With two instate teams I would have thought that would have been the best game to broadcast. Maybe a scheduling conflict?

Now that I think about it, that game is on a Friday. KJZZ broadcasts HS games every Friday.

I didn't see that. I would have thought that was an automatic. Maybe KJZZ had a previous commitment. It is on a Friday night. They might have already scheduled a high school football game that night. Surely a game between two instate DI FCS programs is a bigger draw than Copper Hills vs. Magna? Or, maybe their is another TV Station picking that game up.

I'm pretty excited about this. I think the attendance issue has always boiled down to student participation, and that isn't going to be as impacted by this quite like the community audience. It's going to be good exposure.

I agree Hawks. I think the biggest issue has always been student attendance. I'd love to see another 500 show up on average. Get their section really cooking. Having TV at the game consistently could only help that. The university, and department, will have a greater incentive to get students out to the games when the whole state can watch. Wanna put on a good show. At least I hope they are worried about their appearance on TV. This is a great chance for Weber State to showcase the program, facilities, and university. It you have a large and crazy student body it is a recruiting tool. Students want to go to USU because they see how crazy the student crowd is and in turn how much fun the university should be. This is something that other people are going to be looking at when they watch the games on TV. If they see an empty arena and empty/boring student section that will really reflect badly on the university.
