Koby mcewen transfer

We just got a grad transfer from Marquette. Originally played at Utah state. He averaged 14 and 15 ppg.. at usu then went to Marquette for 2 years and did well. Huge recruit. I remember him at usu. He was a great player. Was mountain west freshman of the year. I'm excited. We don't Baker anymore..

Way more than adequate replacement for Brown. Koby is a highly skilled guard who can do a lot of everything. He is also highly athletic.

I think we will probably bring in two or three more. What does everyone think? My feelings are that we need rebounding and rim protection. After that, just get the best player you can get at any position. You can never have too many good players. :coffee:

Unless we have more guys transfer we only have one more spot open. Kham davis is the only player that I know is not coming back next year. I would just take the best available player regardless of position.

Next year's returning seniors don't count agaist our 13. We could sign up to five players and be within the limit. If we signed all five, we would have 16 on scholarship. That is a lot, so I don't think we would go quite that far. I think we would also like to leave some room, just in case someone great drops in or there is someone who will become available next year. There are many ways to look at this situation, brought about by the pandemic. :coffee:

Hasn't Brown said, or coach said, that he would not be back?

I haven't heard anything but assume he is gone. He has his degree I think and can earn as a pro. He would have to be willing to give up earned income to play. Unless he for some reason wants a masters badly.

Also this guy looks like he would be the perfect replacement for brown.

This is an incredible pick up for the Cats. Welcome to Weber Koby!

As for Brown...would love for him to come back, but if he decides to move on and get paid to play basketball, I can’t fault that decision. No matter what he ends up doing, he’ll be good at. He’s a smart kid.

We know Bassett and Kozak are coming back for sure. I hope Carlson decides to return. What we need, in my opinion, if we only have one or two more offers and Carlson joins the other two bigs coming back, is an efficient floor general and a Mook like big man. A guy who can play the 3 or 4. Also,

Also something to Remember. Tavian only got 20mins this year. I think he will be a great addition to the rotation next year. I also feel some of our role players will develop this summer.

Weber could be really good next year, if Randy can get the right additions. He’s already got one great addition.

Brown participated in the 3x3 event at the final four which pays outgoing seniors, making him officially ineligible to return. Quite frankly this team is stacked and with the additions they have just added, this team SHOULDN’T lose in conference, unless chemistry issues or poor coaching (highly likely but possible to overcome with this roster) arise.
