"Kramer has a bit of a bullish side himself. Having previously led Eastern Washington and Montana State to Big Sky championships, the four-time conference Coach of the Year already is saying Idaho State can be a title contender this fall."

kramer is a good coach but he did have some problems at msu with apr and criminal conduct with some players and coaches. he is a good coach but i think perhaps in the past he did not keep a tight enough leash on those around him at msu. i dont think he will have those sort of problems again at isu though.

He got kind of a raw deal with the way msu dealt with his firing and i'm really glad to see him back coaching again in the Big Sky where he belongs. Theres only one way for isu to go and thats up and in a few years i think you could see them contending for a spot in the upper third of the conference.

Hopefully ISU's game on 10/29 is early on in the day before our match-up with PSU. Really want to watch Kramer's Bengals take on MSU. That's going to be one really weird homecoming for Kramer. Poetic justice if he whips 'em. :thumb:

MSU barely escaped them last year, and that was without Kramer. :thumb:

I don't like that we play them so late in the season again. Kramer might have them playing real tough by then.

poetic justice?!

it was APR issues under kramer's watch that caused MSU to lose scholarhips. it was kramer who all but stopped recruiting within the state of montana. it was kramer that oversaw the recruitment of many "questionable" personalities while at MSU. you need poetic justice? how about a 40 point bobcat win by a team filled with montanans in front of a packed house of 20,000(the one kramer promised, but couldn't build).

trust me, many MSU alums have this one circled on their calanders.

I'm not debating whether MSU had the grounds to let Coach Kramer go. All things considered, it seems as though they certainly did. They went about handling it poorly, IMO, and the fact that they recently settled with Kramer to the tune of $250,000 tends to support this.

A team filled with Montanans? You might want to check your roster. The highest single percentage of your players might be from Montana, but you have less Montana kids total than players from other states.

Texas - 18
Oregon - 3
California - 11
Montana - 41

Along with a bunch of other dudes from Arizona, Hawaii, Colorado, Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nevada, Washington, etc. that I don't really care to count.

This is probably the wrong place to be bragging about how many state kids you have on your team. About 80% of EWU's roster are from Washington State. Every single player that started on defense for EWU in the National Championship game was from the Evergreen State.

Ranger;
Given that Washington state has a population of 6,724,540. (2010 census) and Montana has a population of 989,415. (2010 census). Washington has 68 people for every one in Montana. Spokane county has 471,22 people or roughly 1/2 of the entire state of Montana, yet there are only 11 kids from Spokane county on Easterns roster.
I think it is pretty good that there are 41 Montana kids on the MSU roster. In Washington the Eagles are 3rd on the food chain for in state athletes and MSU is argue ably #2 in Montana.
So in conclusion, we can be proud we have so many players from Washington on the Eastern roster but the opportunity for more players is far far greater.

I'm with ya. :thumb:

I know there are far more Division I athletes in Washington than in Montana. But the the claim was that they had a "roster full of Montanans".....and that is clearly not the case - I wasn't the one who said it.

Looks like Kramer just picked up a couple Washington kids.
