Saw this online today from Tony Pauline. In this article, he lists Kupp as an obvious sleeper for the upcoming draft and states he's heard from multiple sources that he will declare at the end of the year. Of course, take this for what you will, considering it is the Internet and all. Can't blame him if he does though. I think he will end up being drafted higher than Michael Roos when it's all said and done.

If there's one thing to be learned from recent draft prospects, it's that leaving a year early from Eastern is routinely a bad thing. I don't think Kupp runs 4.4, so do you really want to gamble on being a 5th or 6th rounder? I doubt he leaves this year unless conditions are extremely ripe.

He would get a strong pitch from agents through surrogates how high he would go high. The "experts" would predict how many WR's will be in the draft and guess where he might go.
My impression is Cooper has a strong support network around him that would give him good advice, and he seems like an intelligent enough man to take that advice regardless of what it is.

3rd round at best. Not diminishing his talent, but that's how it goes for FCS skill positions.

How in the world does Kupp win national offensive player of the week but can't win conference offensive player of the week...I get the PSU kid had a day, but c'mon...

Although I agree with you, I wouldn't quite say it goes badly for everyone

Perhaps, but it's worth noting that Taiwan was as useless as a third nipple in his first couple of years in the NFL. He was a world beater at Eastern, but nowhere close to NFL quality when he left. He had to build his way up to the caliber of player that gets resigned. Very few teams want to invest a high draft pick in a player who represents a long term project with no immediate return; even QBs these days are expected to contribute early on.

The good news for Kupp is that he doesn't have question marks on his durability. The last few guys to come out of Eastern with a lot of backing- Jones, Johnson, Kaufman- all had notable injury issues on their resume coming out of college.

Very true. I agree that he would be better off staying another year. The NFL wide receiver draft is going to be strong this year. He will have a lot of competition.

I guarantee that NFL scouts will love Kupp's work ethic. It is just unparalleled. Wide receivers in the NFL have to dedicate a lot of time and effort mastering their craft to make those ridiculous catches and Kupp has already proven that he has that kind of dedication.

I would fully support Kupp being a grad transfer...the guy, more so than Adams, has the size, intangibles that deserve the opportunity to "prove it" at the FBS level...although I would say his performances against FBS teams we have played would be proof enough

I won't be surprised with any decision Kupp decides to make. He seems like a guy who would stay here next year and use up all of his eligibility. At the same time, I don't know what else he needs to show the scouts. He'll obviously talk with his family, and another deciding factor would be the Draft Advisory Committee. If they give him a high enough grade, then I could see him declare.

The difference is that Kupp is not a 5'11 QB playing in the FCS. He is a 6'2 WR that has already proven be can play at that level of competition (several times). There is absolutely zero reason for him to even think about going the graduate transfer route.

Personally, I don't think an FCS player should ever declare a year early. His draft status will improve playing another year of college ball. If he does that and sets basically insurmountable records in the FCS next year, I think he is a legit 1st round pick.

I think there have been former players at Eastern that have gotten bad advice in the past from certain individuals...I just hope he isn't listening to them and that he makes the most informed decision possible without people promising things that they maybe cannot deliver on. I will of course be a huge fan and support him either way, but staying the course for another year is a better decision if he wants to be a legit 1st or 2nd round pick. Yes, there is always the risk of injury, but unless you're getting a high $ guarantee what does it matter either way? And you're only going to get that kind of guarantee going in the very early rounds.

Yes, there is always the risk of injury,
Hope he has insurance. Also, hope he isn't listening to anyone but his family. Lots of knowledge there.

Not sure any FCS receiver is a 1st or 2nd rounder unless they were a BCS guy that fell out who is 6'5" and 4.4 guy with mitts the size of tennis rackets. Kupp is certainly special and think he could outplay many 1st or 2nd rounders over the past ten years, but does he have those type of measurables?

Not sure Kupp has anything left to prove and unlike Ranger, don't think another year at Eastern is going to improve his draft status. There is LOTS of competition at WR this coming draft and next... Guess it comes down to his goals and were he thinks Eastern can be as a team next season.

Couple of draft type sites, there are probably better ones; share if you have them.

Disagree, and here's why: It's really less to do with what he can accomplish playing another year of college ball, and more about the competitive nature of this year's draft class. This year is going to be a VERY competitive draft class for WR's. If nothing else, waiting another year puts him in a better position in the 2016 draft class. Playing another year of college ball certainy won't hurt, but coming out a year early could.

What a joke, draftnik has J.jone at 37 and no Kupp listed. He better stay for another year. He just might get better.
