Last 5 remaining games

Can WSU win at least 4 of the 5 remaining games? If so, WSU will end the season at 7-4, and be playoff eligible. If they win out, good chance of being co-camps and in the playoffs. I like the remaining schedule, and after today, anything seems possible. We are still in the chase and we control our own destiny. Lets take care of UND at home and see what happens!! :thumb:

The Big Sky is more wide open this year than it has been in many, many, MANY years, anything is possible.
The potential for an 8-3 finish us there but I think this team finishes at 6-5

Hold on, 7-4 or 8-3 and Playoffs? I would like to take that bet right now, so put your money on the table!

Beating Montana was a major fluke?

Montana is a team that wins because they score 40 plus a game. Their defense gives up 30 points a game. Its a nice winning formula.... Cats hit them with a perfect storm. Their 1st and 2nd QB's were out and they were playing with a QB that is on the team because his dad was his HS Coach and they ran the triple veer option and he is a running QB in a passing offense with no running attack. So our mighty defense held them to 24 points against a 3rd string QB and no run Game, Congrats to the pussy Cats!

Cats biggest thanks should be to the idiot defensive coordinator from Montana who ran a cover 2 double safety defensive scheme against WSU the entire game. Amazing considering WSU passes for less than 120 yards a game! If the Defensive Coordinator had a clue he would of had the Grizzes in a man cover zero scheme and made the Cats beat them in the air. Which everyone knows the Cats couldn't beat Ogden High through the air.

Montana gave the cats the win, the fumble in OT and the Thrown pick to the house gave WSU the Win, WSU did not convert one series in the second half to touchdown or field goal. 9 series and 9 punts during regulation.

Never the less please enjoy the win!!! But if anyone would like to take the 7-4 or 8-3 bet let me know!

My feelings are that the most likely finish will be 5-6 or 6-5. 7-4 would be outstanding, but less likely, and 8-3 is just a pipe dream. A possibility that is remote enough to not be worth debating.

At the beginning of the season, most of us were thinking that a 4 to 6 win season should be considered a huge success. It looks to me like that will be happening. I see the program taking good, positive steps to where they need to be. Add into that, the fact that we are quite young and will have more maturity and talent next year than this, and we should be happy with the direction of the program in just two short years under coach Hill. :nod: :nod: :nod:

Haha. This thread can't be serious. Remember that we are still Weber. If we don't win another game tho I'm still happy to see them win in Missoula... As fluky as it was... And let's face it. Montana out played us in just about every aspect. Their coach kicks one field goal instead of going for it on 4th down and we lose.

One thing this Big Sky season has shown me is that anything and everything can happen.

Case in point
Idaho State beat North Dakota, who beat Portland State, who beat Idaho State
NAU beats Montana State then loses to UC Davis
Sacramento State almost beats Eastern, then loses at home to Northern Colorado
WEBER WINS IN MISSOULA

Need I say more? I'm not saying Weber will win out, every game left will be a dog fight (or cat fight). But after what happened in Missoula and what is happening around the big sky I am not counting Weber out of any of their remaining games.

A lot of parity in the Big Sky, no one is unbeatable

This is still likely a 5 or 6 win season at best.

The win at Montana was more about what Montana didn't do than what Weber did. We had another great showing by the defense and our line play was dominant. We decided to run our QB/FB and not let him throw the ball except when absolutely necessary.

Here are my predictions for the remaining games:

North Dakota - 65% Win
@NAU - 20% Win
@EWU - 10% Win
UC Davis - 80% Win
Pocatello State- 70% Win

~2.45 wins

Admittedly, these are guesses on my part. However, I will be surprised with wins in any of these games if we stick with Clark at QB. 50 yards passing wont win many games.

There is a lot of football left to be played. Lets not get too ahead of ourselves. However, Wildcat is absolutely right. Anyone in the Sky is beatable on any given night. The best team on our schedule, is the next team we play. Take it one week at a time. But, as of right now, this team has gone above and beyond. Before the season started, I was asked, what would be a successful season? My reply was, winning more than 2 games. That objective has already been reached. Next goal? Winning season?

Well stated and I pretty much agree with everything.

My preseason guess was 5 wins and hoping for a chance to steal up to 2 others. It's interesting that they are right in line for a chance at that despite any resemblance of a passing game. If you were to ask me my guess a week ago, I would have said the 2 games they already have and hoping to not put on an embarrassing display as SUU ever again! I had them beating SUU and losing to UM, so I guess that's a push. I think the remaining games hinge much on the rushing D of the opponent because we're not gonna see a change at QB. If they continue to run Jadrian, open the play book up to more than 4-5 plays as they did in Mizzoula, and as inconsistent as the BSC has been, I think the opportunity is certainly there for 5-6 wins, albeit ugly, wins.
