I can't find the original post, but someone possibly associated with Sac State Athletics posted to FB (perhaps SD saw it) that Sac State is the last D-I undefeated team in the State of California. That's actually incomplete. We're the only FOUR--YEAR SCHOOL left in California that's undefeated. I just checked. We have ZERO teams in D-II (although California (PA) IS in D-II, and they're not undefeated, either) or NAIA (though Simpson in Redding is planning on adding NAIA football as a scrimmage sport in 2023 and as a varsity sport in 2024, probably in the Frontier Conference along with Southern Oregon, a frequent D-II game for Sac, and Carroll (MT)). The only D-III schools in Cali playing football are in the SCIAC, and all of them have at least one loss, too. There ARE three jucos with undefeated records, all in SoCal, and that's all that's keeping us from being the only undefeated college in the entire state.

So here's the standings of four-year schools in Cali (or with Cali in it's name):
