Here is another example of why this poll is lame. In last weeks poll we lost twice on the road and received 29 votes. In this weeks poll, we had two road wins and received 23 votes.
Well, I'm uncertain that that is a valid reason to call the poll "lame". You simply can't look at Weber's results as though they're in a vaccuum. You also have to take into account what the teams slightly ahead of Weber did that week. For example, Indiana State beat UNI and Wichita State, currently ranked #15 in the nation. Santa Clara won two conference games, one on the road, against teams with better RPIs than Weber's opponents, and so on.
Is the poll perfect? No, but what poll is? Frankly, I think this poll is pretty darn accurate, given the little coverage these teams get. At least it gives
some desperately needed and deserved attention to top mid-major programs. My advice would be to stop looking a gift poll in the mouth
