Somewhat reminiscent of our guy, Andrew Benavides, who suffered a similar injury in a game at NAU a couple of years ago. He sat out last year, tried to come back this year, but had another temporary paralysis episode and is done for good. Here's hoping the best for young Mr. Johnson.

My prayers go out to this young man. The important thing right now is that he makes a full recovery from his injury. Sure football is an important thing in his life, and we fans can really go overboard with it, but his focus needs to be on recovery, then football. Hopefully he gets the full support of the athletic department in his recovery. God speed Xavian - here's to hoping we see you on the field next year for the Battle of the Cats!

Definitely, for the best, that he sits out the final games of the season. You definitely don't want anything worse to happen to Xavian this season. I hope he can come back 100% and continue to play in the future. But first things first gotta focus on what is important.

Good to hear that Pflu visited Xavian in the hospital. Bobby would have gone to the nearest bar and awarded the player who hit him with a beer. I did read on that grizz site that the player responsible for the hit was remorseful.

Great post Old School, and thanks for the kind words. Hopefully he makes a full recovery first and formost.

Weber State and Montana State dont play each other next year  :ohno:

My prayers are with Xavian and the Johnson family. I really hope that he is able to make a full recovery. If he plays again, that is totally up to him, and I will fully support him in his decision.

As for the MSU...kinda sad that after 50+ years of playing each other annually that the Weber vs. MSU game won't be happening next year. I always look forward to the MSU game. It is always a fun game, highly competitive, and usually is decided in the 4th quarter, or on the last series for either team. Also, even though we have a good rivalry, there is a lot of respect between the fans. I for one, don't get me wrong, I love beating the Bobcats in any sport, respect their fans far more than their brethren in Missoula.

I'm with you on that one. MizHooLa aught to form its own state. Then the rest of Montana would be perfect! :stir:

Crap -- that's right, I forgot! That just bites!! I love the rivalry between our two schools; there's a ton of respect both ways. This new scheduling is gonna take some getting used to - right now I can't say I really like it. If I'm not mistaken, we don't play Idaho State next year either. Just wrong that all those old time Big Sky match-ups are not gonna happen every year. Our rivals are Montana (seems right) and North Dakota ( )

Yeah Its the only thing about our new schedule that I dont like, I love playing the Bobcats and Griz every year, to be the best you gotta beat the best. They are our oldest rivals along with the Bungles.

One thing I do like about our future schedules, we get ISU our rivals, and future instate inconf rival SUU on our schedule every year.
