Disgust... For the first time since Cravens was fired, I actually turned off the radio before the game was over. Part of the reasons why Cravens was fired was his teams inability to be consistent, disciplined, aggressive, and competitive. The present Cats have lacked fight, leadership, and offense. Its not enough to stay close with the instate teams, the Cats need to compete and beat those teams. I don't like hearing about other Big Sky teams pulling off big wins, and in the same night listen to Weber get absolutely embarrased by a Eustacy coached team. Its evident that he learned from his many losses to Abegglon. His team was disciplined, consistent, aggressive, attacked the boards, and had a player who could lead and score when he was needed. There is nobody on this team that can do that. Lillard is the closest that we have to being able to do that. Its been two years since Weber had a leader who could pick the team up when they were down, who could score when they needed him to (Patten). I hate losing!! I hate losing to teams that we should beat.. I hate thinking that Weber wont win... Never have I thought that. I've always belived that Weber could compete with anybody, and I wont that feeling to return.

WSU is definitly in need of someone to man up and be the leader, it probably will be Lillard that steps into that role since neither of our seniors will. But to say that the team didn't fight last night is just flat out wrong. Their effort is the one thing Randy Rahe praised in the post game show.
Personally I think it's much to early to be jumping off the band wagon especially when you look at how young this team really is.

Agreed, the reason for the tournament this week was to prepare the team for Big Sky play. If that loss helps our team win a few more road games in the conference it will be worth it. I am excited to see how WSU reacts when they get into the Big Sky games.

To me it's pretty clear Lillard will be our man. He is starting to play better and better every game and is proving to be our most consistent best guy and he's only a freshman. That gives the rest of the Big Sky something to fear for the future. I was very disappointed in McCoy and Davis. I was listening and Davis got fouled late in the game on a 3, he made all three, and still only had 5 points. As much as I love Daviin and McCoy, they just aren't the type of role players that will get a team through the tough games. Daviin has the athleticism but really isn't a pure enough shooter or good enough leader. McCoy being so short is really kind of a liability on defense with a player like him, although he's good, he just can't lead unless he's on fire. I'm sorry to say it but this is going to be a down year for us, when we get blown out by a Southern Miss team who has only beat the crappy teams on their schedule, that's not a good sign. I think we can compete in the big sky and will finish in the top half, but i think PSU is the clear front runner. I have hope that we can still possibly win the big sky though, because we are a good team, just too young and our role players aren't the kind of players we need.

It seems to me that this was one of the biggest problems last season. Our team needs someone to step up and big. I think the talent is there but no one wants to take over. Lillard is looking like he is the best candidate, (sad knowing that he is only a freshman) if so I hope that he completely runs with it and doesn't do it only part of the time.

There is a big differnce between OOC and Big Sky play...

Remember last year?

We finished OOC 5-8 and we were a missed call away from the Big Sky championship game in Portland.

6-6 is better than 5-8

I for one am grateful Randy Rahe will schedule the OOC games as tough as he has. I would rather play Arizona than the crappy schedule USU fans have to watch every year. In a few weeks we will see the tough games help our young team win Big Sky battles.
