Idaho State wins in Bozeman 63-56.

Jeremiah "Nobody ever beat us--we beat ourselves" Dominguez hits the mother of all desperation pump-fake three-pointers at the buzzer to beat Northern COlorado 77-74. UNC was up 11 at halftime.

Dang...

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Jeremiah Dominguez hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift Portland State to a 77-74 victory over Northern Colorado on Thursday.

PSU should have lost! Imagine if UNC could finish out games? The Bear would probably have, at least, 4 more wins this season. Its too bad for the Bears that they will be losing Banks this season, they have a lot of talent coming back next year, and will most definitely be in the chase for the championship. I think it'll be good for PSU to have a 20 win season along with Weber, it will make the Sky look better, and get the Sky a better seeding in the NCAA tourny. Also, it will ensure that the runner-up will be going to the NIT.

Everybody keeps saying UNC is losing Banks after this year...

22 Jabril Banks F 6-7 230 JR Denver, Colo. (Indian Hills)

That is straight from the UNC Bears website...is he leaving the team after this even though he's a junior? A couple people have said he's not gonna be on the team next year...so I've been curious.

OgdenCat - I don't think the Big Sky Conference runner up is guaranteed an NIT bid unless it's the regular season winner that loses in the conference tourney. Lotsa talented second place teams in the Big Sky over the past few years that got no post-season bids at all. I may be wrong as I'm going on an occasionally lapsed memory.

Cats looked good last night - definitely the cream of the Sky this year. That being said, I can see PSU, UM or Northern Colorado getting hot when it counts and possibly getting an upset or two in the tourney. ISU plays hard and seem to have a good defense but can't seem to consistently put up points. MSU's team is an enigma. NAU and EWU need minor - no - major miracles just to make the tourney at this point so I'm leaving them both out of the equation.

Thankfully Banks is a SR along with Palacio (not anywhere as good as banks but a solid contributor for the Bears)... http://uncbears.com/sports/m-baskbl/2008-09/roster. But the Bears have a heck of a FR Center to take his place (Mike Proctor)... Really UNC is only losing one major contributor, and thats Banks.

You are correct, the only team right now that is guaranteed to play in either the NIT or the NCAA tournament is the regular season big sky champion, your WEBER STATE WILDCATS. There is no guarantee to the second place team to go to the NIT.

MTJack,

It was reallly sad to see what happened to your team this year. A shame too Wilson couldn't get those last 7 assists to become #2 all-time.

Knowing Adras I'm sure NAU will be much better next year, you had a good recruiting class last year too.
