Let's get behind this team

Reading all the negative comments is pretty disparaging. We lost today, it happens. Get over it. It isn't the first time that's happened and won't be the last. Give NAU some credit, they're a good team and played a great game. We lost one game and the sky's falling. I'm still 100% behind this teams win or lose and we've got a great chance to make the playoffs and surprise some teams once we're there. So get out to the game next weekend and cheer your butts off, the team needs us fans!

With the Grizz losing so bad tonight, Montana State still playing IDSU, Cal Poly, and Montana, anddd most teams already having lost one game at least... We are still sitting pretty good! Maybe a loss wasn't such a bad thing and will give us motivation to keep it together through the playoffs. Regardless of whatever happens, GOEAGS!

I am behind this team and do not follow the game threads anymore. Our game threads are taking on the egriz game threads flavor which is a very sour taste.

I haven't given up. Sometimes a loss is good for a team to put things in perspective.

We'll need a little help, but we still have a shot to share a conference title, and I think every remaining game on our schedule is very winnable, with or without VA.

I think we are all 100% behind this team. The board is just a place to vent. Most of the people on here are more than fair weather fans. But there were a lot of frustrating things in this game, a game we could have, and probably should have won. There were some outstanding plays, and overall individual performances. But often, those things get lost in a loss.

In 2010, we lost by double digits to MSU. So, I'm sure we all realize this isn't the end of the world. I think even without VA, we should be competitive in the next three games, though we likely wouldn't win them. With VA, I think we should win all three.

Sometimes, fans just need an opportunity to vent their frustrations to like minded people. It doesn't mean anyone is defecting. Let's keep the conversation flowing, the good, the bad, and the ugly!

No one will bail on this team based on one bad loss. But don't sugarcoat it, it was a bad loss. We had MUCH more talent than NAU and this game shouldn't have been all that close. Even playing a very average game, we still needed a bungling for the ages to actually lose.

Hopefully, this is a game that serves notice that we need to bring the A game each and every time out, and not take any opponent lightly. If we play at our best, there is no one we can't beat at this level. But playing like today, everyone else in our schedule has a shot.

Yes, I understand what you're saying and it was certainly frustrating watching the end of that game. But I refuse to dwell on one game and get caught up in bashing our coaches and players who are leaving it all out on the field game in and game out. It's ok to be upset about losing, but it happens when you are playing on the road against a team that also has 63 scholarships and good players. Jordan didn't have a great game today, but we need him to lead this offense for 1, maybe 2 or 3 more games this year and I don't think it's right to bash a kid who was put in a situation where he has to come in mid-season and replace possibly the best players in all of FCS. Yet we are still making those comparisons. He's only played three complete games!

who's not behind the team? I think youre being a little overly sensitive. we lose, people bitch about stuff. we win, they don't. this is a place to voice all of that so I wouldn't mistake a little frustration with people jumping ship.

Lighten up, Francis. Part of being a leader or even an athlete at this level means being able to take criticism. Baldwin made a crap call and our defense totally blew it at the end of the game. I'm all about flushing this L and moving on, but stop trying to make it out like some folks are bad fans if they don't like some of what's going on in our games or think we could do a lot better in certain areas. When you are a winning program it comes with the territory!

Right on, Hambone! Was logging on just to say this.

This is why the game is played! Crazy shit happens. Emotions run high. People get disappointed. It's all a part of football. If adversity strikes, and we lose some games, so be it. Before last year, when was the last time we were undefeated conference champions? Beau made a bad call, but history has shown us that Beau knows how to get his teams through adversity and be competitive year in and year out. I have faith in Beau and I have faith in this team.

Also, congratulations to Northern Arizona! If there are any jacks out there, your team is doing well bouncing back from what everyone thought would be a rebuild year. I hope you continue to build your program up and make the Big Sky a more competitive place.

I'm ok with criticism of both the coaches and players, but criticizing the chicken littles from the game thread is WAY over the top in IMHO.

Seriously…we lose our first conference game in two years…on the road…against an improving team that made the playoffs last year…who's season is on the line…and wants to knock off the champs…with our backup QB making his third start...by one point…and were suddenly in jeopardy of losing our last three, or hoping for a split against PSU and Montana, or missing the playoffs all together? :coffee:

JW had a bad game, that shit will happen but it's not as if it's impossible for him to improve - especially with a couple of guys named Baldwin and Hill coaching him up. He'll bounce back.

I would still favor us in our three remaining games...even without Vernon. We have a wonderful rushing attack, outstanding WR corps, great special teams play, and the defense is getting better (btw, no one took me up on that bet that we'd average less than 30 ppg on defense after ISU…cowards! )

We're fine, peoples.

Kalm, you are correct here. I have been unfairly critical of the fans on the RED ZONE who are passionate, and have every right to their opinions. I even made the comparison of our game thread with egriz which was a cheap shot at our fans.

GO EAGS!

To All,
Watching the game last night, I was frustrated from all that went on during the game. I went to EWU watch the Women VB Game which our team won 3-0, even with the games being so close. My daughter even said , "she hope the WVB Team will do better", they did. I got so damn tired, after I got home I tried to watch UW vs Arizona St. I fell asleep, don't know who won. Even, as of this time on the blog, still haven't heard who won, UW vs Arizona St. Once I woke up this morning turned on my TV, watched my Rams Vs The Chiefs, they kicked my Rams Ass, 34-7. Before I go any on, Who is Francis?   I had to laugh at dudedsaid. I agree with what have been said about the Coaches/Team, how the team played, etc. The reason why I didn't put any thing on the blog after the game last night, I might have said negative things about our Players, the way played. Sleeping it off, helped me a bit. I m so happy to hear no one is bailing on our team, "Congratulations To All". My point is wait for a while before we express our feelings, how frustrated we all are about things, it surely helped me. I love our Athletes, and the way they are playing in all sports, and I know all of you also love them. We lost the 1st Big Sky Game, was happy to see Montana lost also. We will need some help, Glad most of you are giving NAU cudos for they way they played. Even if it was a 3rd string QB that took their team down the field with 51 seconds left and defeated us. Now we have to bounce back from this lost, and show we are capable of getting it "DONE" Excuse my book. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

To All,
Finally I just got finished reading most of the bloggers post, all are very positive, even the ones that are critical of our Team, Players, etc. No one made any comments of the Running Game of Qincy Forte, he came back with after missing all those games. He ran his butt off. He deserves a lot of credit. Also Corey Mitchell returning. Terrence Grady #88, Freshman, he didn't have but one catch, came at the right time. I didn't see Todd Raynes on the field, maybe I missed him. We are about to have all our "Wounded Warriors" Back." Not degrading our own "Military Wounded Warriors". One of my favorite group I donate to monthly. We will have positive things come, remember this weekend is "HOME COMING", and we need our Spectators to be there and "Raise The Roof" we will be there, bad knees and all. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Hope to see many of our FANS at "Impulse" on Monday at 5:30 p.m.Have a great Sunday, what is left of it. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Hi Vic! Know what you mean, frustrating loss! There were a lot of woulda coulda shoulda's to look back on and now the conference race is in a mess! Just listened to the coaches show and after listing to Beau I'm on the bounce back! We have a sold out game against ND, so lets take it out on them!!! Things will feel a lot better after a nice win and then bring on Montana!
Vic that was a good move to go to sleep during the Husky game! The defense played great but the offense was awful! Really bad conditions to start Freshman QB Troy Williams. I like Jeff Lindquist but I think the coaches have already have given up on him. My daughter pointed out how all 3 Washington schools lost to Arizona teams Saturday. A weekend they would all like to forget!

Judging by the attendance in the stands and at the tailgates, more people are behind this team then any other in EWU history :coffee:

Eagledawg,
I didn't fall asleep on UW Game intentionally, I was so tired. One lady that dispatched for me @ University Police (EWU) over 25 years ago, I got an email from her and she mentioned her and her Husband was going to that UW game. They live in Bothell, WA. We were at the Coaches Show Monday, and our Coach is so grounded. I am sure you heard him say many times this lost was on him. He is very positive. We will bounce back. Found out at the Mondays show, Jalen Moore #28 RB, didn't go on the trip, he had a very bad cold, and had not attended practice all last week :( :( :( Hope he is ready for this weekend.   We are now # 6th in the polls, if you believe in polls. Two polls have us #7, the third have us as # 6. Earlier on our blog someone has the areas to look for the Coaches Polls. Saw my son on the internet at his service Sunday, he stated he really love it there in Bonnie Lake, was raining very hard, after being in the Desert for 5 years (Moses Lake). ;) ;) ;) I have been flying my EWU Flags on the back of my Sport Trac in Spokane, and getting noting but :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: . I live in Gonzaga University Area, 3 blocks North of the University, and it is amazing how many of their students are for us in Football. Time to get ready for bed. Slept from 8:20p.m. until midnight, so will try and get back to sleep. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic
