Lets Talk Football: OFFENSIVE LINE

I haven't spent a lot of time looking at what the other Big Sky teams are bringing back, but I have looked over Weber's team, and I'm pretty impressed. Personally, I think a teams forturne is founded in its linemen, especially the offensive lineman.

What type of a line will Weber have? How many lineman are coming back?

We all know that JC Oram is going to be the anchor of the line this season. But who else do the Cats bring back? There are a few conference foes really hoping that Weber's line will be young and inexperienced. Unfortunately, that is only half the case. Yes, they are young, but definitely not inexperienced.

T:Halfhill (3VL) SR. /Ged Carrington (1VL) So
G:JC Oram (2VL) JR./Bijon Mostoufi (1VL) So
C:Tytan Timoteo (1VL) So/Spencer Rangasan (1VL) So (either of these guys could start)
G:Tim Farabee (2VL) JR/Jinko Timoteo FR (this is the most worrisome spot on the line)
T:Caleb Turner (2VL) JR./Joel Turrubiates JR. (JC)

Reserves: There are three RM's coming back to the OL this season: Dan Blankenship OT (6-5 290 Hillcrest HS), Tyler Hess C (6-1 235?? Bear River HS), and the monster Jeff Rasmussen OT (6-8 305 Bingham HS).

Along with these three there are six Freshman...The Freshmen lineman to look out for is Alex Land. He was a two star recruit coming out of Oklahoma (6-4 295).

Do we count TE as OL? Well, if Nak does get his year back, which is now looking pretty good, Weber will have him along with Francisco, Janakowski and a Oklahoma State transfer at the TE position. Nak, from what I have heard, has the best hands out of all the WR's...Having him back would give the team instant offense and that go to guy.

I definitely concur, the O line is young, but not inexperienced. While Halfhill is the only Senior, and he is new to the O line, due to all the injuries to the O line last year, all the O lineman that will start this year have some good experience. Rangasan (So), Timoteo (So), Farabee (Jr), Oram (Jr), and Turner (Jr) all played significant minutes and all started at least one game last year. And Turrubiates (Jr) has been playing JC ball the last 2 years. I truly am not that concerned about the O line. And just imagine how good they will be in 2011.

Where are you getting your info on Naks. Another year would be sweet, but I thought he was done.

camp starts tomorrow and Naks status is still unknown. he was cleared by the BSC in May. someone at NCAA needs to be fired.

The NCAA best clear him. It would be absolute crap if they didn't, and they continue to give the Utes RB years. What is this his 7th year? This is something the NCAA should have cleared weeks ago. Don't they understand that this decision could have huge repercussions on his life? This is HUGE...he deserves another year.

Naks would be a huge addition to this years team. He is a great leader, excellent player, and has the best hands on the team.

As for Offensive Linemen, Weber might not have the best line going into camp, but I can virtually guarantee that Weber's line will be the best at the end of the season. Weber has a lot of talented lineman going into camp.

Naks the man! I hope he is able to suit up for the Cats again this Fall.

As for the line. I've heard a lot about Carrington, Turrubiates, and Rasmasson. These three seems like they are going to be very competant reserves for the Cats. What about the defensive line? Has anyone heard anything about it?

the D-line is going to be raw... super raw. A last minute injury will force some rearrangements, but WSU linebacking corp will shore up the inexperience up front. and the secondary looks real good. It will come down to how the coaches scheme to help the D-line out. BLITZ, STUNTS, CRASHES and SLANTS!!!

i think the O line will be fine, with the little depth they have. the d-line has taken some hits, but the LB's are better this year. our DT's have to step up, the ends will be ok, but the LB's will carry the load this season.
