Light The W

It’s a complete joke that Unitah High School can have a U on the mountain, but we can’t have a W. Even if it’s not directly above the school, there must be somewhere not, “protected.” Until we can do that, why not light the W after every win?

Good luck trying to get a W now, the tree huggers would throw a hissy fit that the W would ruin the mtn, and destroy critical habitat for rattlesnakes and weeds.

I would suggest doubling or tripling the size of the W on the front of the stadium skybox and have it light up purple and white for every win.

Uintah High School (in Vernal) has a U on the mountain and how does that relate to Weber? Or, are you referring to the U the town of Uintah put on the mountain side near Weber Canyon?

Regarding that one, the town has had it's battles both over convenient access for maintaining it and converting it from painted rock to concrete "blocks." The property owners between the U and paved roads have restricted any public access from that direction which has made it near impossible for motorized access, and it was a long-fought battle with government entities to finally find a way to add concrete bag sized blocks to create a more permanent feature with fewer problems maintaining it.

I'm just saying the struggle to find private land for something like this and the fights over often ridiculous environmental restrictions is everywhere, not just in Junction Town. Include me as one who would love to see a more permanent "W" display above Weber State, even if it were only visible at night but preferably in the daylight too.

Yes, I’m referring to the city of Uintah. I can’t help but think of the Utes when I see that and it makes me sick. I just find it interesting that every college, many high schools and even some cities can pull it off, but we can’t. Since we are allowed to light the W during homecoming, why not leave it up all season?

I also like the idea of making the W bigger and higher on the stadium or even adding one to the bell tower. Anything to show the valley Weber won!
