Lillard Makes US NAtional Team

The final cut will be to a 12 man roster. Dame has already proven himself in the NBA, but this would be a nice little accolade to add to his list. It would also be a step toward the next Olympic team. :thumb: :thumb:

Congrats to Lillard!

The news is not that he made it, it's that's he's willing to participate. I'm looking forward to seeing him play against Joel. They are in the same pool.

You are assuming that both Joel and Dame make the their respective teams. The USA team will go from 19 to 12. I think Dame will get the nod but their are some good PG's on that roster. I have no idea about Joels chances, I think they are good but who really knows. We all thought we would be seeing Berry playing some Summer ball in Vegas. I am really bummed that he got another DNP last night.

Roster now down to 15 after KD drops out. Still not sure if Lillard will make it with three other PGs on the roster though.

He is getting closer. I think he has a great shot of making it. He is the type of player that Coach K loves. Hard-nosed, blue collar guy, who has great character.

Lillard misses the final cut down to 12. It's still a great experience for him and he will get another shot in 2 years for the Olympics. His popularity will only continue to rise. I never really thought he would make the cut over Rose and Curry. That leaves dookie Kyrie Irving and Lillard for the 3rd PG spot. It's not hard to guess who coach K will pick.

Picking Rose over Lillard is a slap in the face and will probably backfire on Coach K. Rose is injured more than he isn't and when he isn't he'd rather sit anyway. Just this week he sat out three practices to "rest". Lillard would never do that. But this will only make Lillard's fire burn hotter and will make him better.

It seems like Coach K had his heart in the right place….on the recruiting trail. Now he can say he has two more players who made team USA.

Mason Plumlee's stats from last year: 7.4 pts, 4.4 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 1.1 turnovers per game. Why was this guy even invited to camp let alone making the final roster? Oh, I forgot. Because he is going to matchup so well against the Gasol brothers.

Rose averaged 4.8 pts/game while shooting 25.4% from the field. Still pissed he was selected over Lillard. But congrats to Team USA.

Thanks, good read. I'm more of a fan of seeing the unfairness of the have nots vs the haves highlighted and while this does apply, it's more about pointing out the unfairness between the haves vs haves. A good read, none the less.

"He's on a tremendous run, and let's face it: Krzyzewski is so untouchable, he could keep Mason Plumlee on this World Cup roster without much of an uproar."
