LMU

Big test at home for us tomorrow. Apparently they have a stud at point. Wont be able to be there, but I will be watching the game DVRed. Murhy said this was one of the best teams that we will have played to this point. They did lose to alaska-anchorage, which is a bit bizarre and they recently beat Portland state 66-56.

I'll be watching for sure as well online. Don't know anything about LMU, but it sounds like it will be a big test for us. If they beat PSU, it will be somewhat of a measurement of where we stand in coparison to PSU anyway.

I see improvement from NAU in every game. I don't know where they'll finish in the big sky, but I can almost say that it won't be last. I say we finish around 6th or 7th place :thumb: :thumb:

LMU will be tough. I've watched em a few times over the past few years @ the WCC tournament.

The loss to Alaska Anchorage can probably be attributed to it being on the road and during a holiday tournament. Travel in the Big Sky is nothing compared having to go to Anchorage for a game.

The formation of the Pac 12 Networks (what's with adding the plural, by the way?....at least they don't accentuate the "THE" in front like Ohio State....off my soap box now) is one of the best things to happen to NAU getting local coverage. A bunch of games are now on Fox Sports AZ or Fox Sports West/Midwest. Hooray!

WOW. exciting game. My highlight from the game though, would have to be the interview with Jack Murphy at the end. He was livid, as he should be. He could barely speak he was so mad. Anybody else catch this? He said "this is unacceptable for NAU." Now those are the words of a winner. An interview of a loser like souers would be talking about what great "effort and character" our guys showed. I love this guy and think he is going to be great for this program. Now to the game, if we make ONE of the four free throws we had, the game doesnt even go into OT. Mike Dunn absolutely choked. And what was with Gabe Rogers chucking up threes in OT? Could we not get a better shot than that?

I'm with you. That Jack Murphy interview was awesome.

I like the "fire" shown by Coach Murphy. Praises their efforts but also lets his players know not to accept losses. I hope his attitude is contagious with players and fans.

Re: Gabe Rogers threes in overtime...up to this point, the only other player willing (maybe capable...I don't know?) to take shots is Russell. NAU needs to develop another go-to option for scoring come conference play. Teams rarely can rely on just two players capable of putting up points. I'd love to see one of the young bigs start to show some confidence in their abilities...Hamilton looked like he was ready vs U of A but his minutes and numbers have decreased the last two games. I don't believe we've seen the best Bewernick has to offer, either. I think he has it in him to play like Ruben Boykin.
