The Oregonian reports today that Loomis has signed with the Seahawks as a free agent. He'll be attending the Seahawks rookie mini-camp.

I'm surprised he wasn't drafted given that the punter from Clemson declared early and was taken in the 5th round.

Perhaps since he's a bit older, but age with kickers wouldn't seem to be that big of a deal.

Oh well, hopefully he can turn some heads and stick in Seattle.

Most likely he won't stick in Seattle because Jon Ryan is already entrenched there. Kickers and punters are especially difficult to unseat if they've been around long enough.

That being said, if he can turn some heads, perhaps another team will look at him and sign him if they need help. After all, lots of teams are going to be looking for Seahawks cuts come the end of August because they are good, but just not good enough to crack that deep roster.

Ryan has that playoff TD pass to his credit as well.
