No Tal it doesn't make any sense at all. I'm predicting Loveridge will never see the NCAA's at Utah. This will be a disaster.

If he wasn't sold on byu, he would have been much better off in Ogden for sure.
Awful decision, and claiming Arizona as a final 4 choice when they hadn't offered is just ridiculous.

Oh good, now I can be candid. I agree 100% with you.

For Love, this has all the makings of being a totally disaster. I said, in my previous post, that it "makes sense," only becaue Love is addicted to the possibility of playing in the PAC-12; POWER CONFERENCE. I'm sure LK fed him a bunch of Bull Crap; especially how it will help him get to the NBA faster. I bet LK told him the best way to get to the "League" is through a POWER conference. Maybe someone should point out to Love that LK made it to the "League" out of the Big Sky. LK was a three-time all-conference athlete from UM. Who wouldn't have been appreciated or as good at a larger school. He was able to blossom because he was a big fish in a smaller pond. That is exactly what Love could have been at Weber, BYU, or USU. I think for him going to Utah is an absolute mistake and it will hurt his development. He won't make it to the "league", he won't make it to the NCAA tourny, and finally, he won't become the player he could have. Of course, I hope the best for him. PROVE ME WRONG!

At least at BYU he would be playing for a coach that has proven himself as being a winner. Someone who can develop talent, and who is a pretty damn good guy. By the way, I REALLY DISPISE BYU. I think Loveridge is in love with the limelight of the PAC-12, and has been fed a lot of total BULL SHIT by LK.

In O-Town he would be playing for a coach that has proven his ability to develop talent, a team with a winning tradition, that has the best player in the state. Finally, also, a team where he would have played immediately. I predict that he doesn't see a lot of playing time till his Soph year, if he is even with Utah still.

Heavens...

Wow!! I'm guessing Tal is a bit bugged by the kids decision. Chill 3 steals. Hey, lets be honest, this is a 17 year old kid making this decision. Maybe Loveridge will help turn the sinking ship that is Utah basketball around. I don't blame him for making this decision. Who wouldn't want to play close to home, in a BCS conference, where you get to take on some of the "theoritically" best talent in the nation? Yes, he was probably fed a bunch of lies by LK. But who knows, maybe LK will pan out for the utties? We all know that Weber was a long-shot at getting Loveridge. Lets be happy for the kid and let it go. What impresses me most about this ongoing saga, was the ability of our coaching staff to recognize this kids talent before even he could realize it. To me that is a sign of a great coaching staff. Lets all welcome Stacy Davis to Ogden!! I like him better anyway. To bad Loveridge will have to get use to getting schooled by Davis over the next few years.

"I have a great relationship with every single coach," Loveridge said. "I just want to be a part of the rebuilding we’re going to get the program back to where it was and we’re going to do it in the Pac-12 one of the biggest conferences."

He didn't commit to Utah as much as he committed to the PAC-12. He's enamored with the conference, not so much the school. And because no other PAC-12 school offered, he took Utah's offer. It would have been great to have seen him in purple, but at least he didn't choose USU. Good luck to him. :twocents:

he made a good choice. he had plenty of opportunities. sounds like pac 12 was a big reason but maybe academics/major was a factor. not every DI player makes it to the league. not choosing byu isn't surprising to me especially if he doesn't go on a mission which probably would be annoying to be at byu and not have gone. lol. also byu downgraded conferences in the past summer.

utah has a new coach, larry not only is one of the best players in big sky history, he did some good things at his stint with the griz as their coach. things should improve with larry. even if utah isn't any good he will be a 4 year starter and be 20 minutes from home.

if it wasn't gonna be weber isn't utah the most logical choice considering AZ never offered?

he will also never have to worry about losing a game in ogden or logan since utah announced they can't afford to come back since they have lost their one in both logan and ogden and that will make them look bad in the pac 12. though they actually haven't won in logan since 1996.

here's to beating the utes 2 in a row in ogden!

Very interesting.

Obviously he would have had a better chance of making the NCAA Tournament at WSU. Utah is a major rebuilding project, and WSU is competing for the BSC title every year.

But it is hard to argue that he could still get more exposure at Utah. Like it or not, Pac-12 is a major conference that is going to be getting more and more TV exposure with recent deals they have signed. He will have a chance to play early for a very down and mediocre Utah squad, so it is hard to fault him for this decision. It will be interesting to see his progression and minutes.

Good decision, bad decision; only time will tell. If Larry is able to get some good players around him, the rebuilding may be shorter. I only wish Larry and Jordan the best. I hope they can get it turned around at Utah. It is a bit of a gamble on Jordan's part, but hopefully he can make this longshot pay off. The only bad thing about it is we wont see him at the Dee because Utah won't plat us at our place. They are not even sure if they want to play us at their's, at least until they improve a little bit.

:wtf:

I could be wrong, but I heard that part of the contract with Utah to play them, in football, in 2013, is for the Utes to play Weber in basketball too. I'm hoping that that means that the Utes will be making a visit to the Dee in the future, but in all likelihood it'll be a deal that solidifies the continuation of the current series, but with Weber visiting the Huntsman Center. I don't quite understand why Utah won't, at least, do a 2-1 with the Cats. :wtf:

Somewhat cowardly if you ask me. Shouldn't a PAC-12 team be able to beat a Big Sky team any place they play?
