Lucas

Honestly I think he has personal problems other than injuries. I see him walking around campus perfectly fine. That leads me to believe that there is something other than an injury going on. It is either academic or team rules violations.

Yes, there are other issues than the injury affect Pree right now. However, it may all stem from his frustration with being hurt, and being unable to play.

He hasn't beeen to practice all week, and the coaches aren't able to get a hold of him. I personally hope for the best for him, and hope he starts feeling more positive. He's a very smart and likable young man.

Sounds like both Lucas and Thomas were at practice but did not participate in drills.

It would be great to get them back by the UM/MSU trip to get them back in the swing of things before the BSC tourney.

At this point I wouldn't even play Lucas if he did come back. Why mess with the chemistry? Thomas is another matter. I have a feeling we'll need him before all is said and done.Last edited by on 2008-02-15, 10:32; edited 1 time in total

Chemistry is a good point.

However, when healthy, Lucas is one of our best defenders on the floor. Plus, he can be explosive off the bench with his scoring ability.

But then again, if it ain't broke.....

Yep. Who knows when Hammon will be back, or 100% for that matter. Bad news that we could be three men down going into the WSU game. Depth is good.

I honestly think a big reason for the Viks playing well in the second half of the season is that Lucas has been out of the line-up. He can score, but to score a lot he has to have the ball in his hands a ton and shoots a low FG%. He also can't shoot threes and us a poor free throw shooter. We now have three clear key players in Huff, Morrison, and Dominguez . These guys are all efficient players and don't jack up a many bad shots like 'Pree will do some games. I think there is a role for Lucas coming off the bench, especially with Hammond's injury and if it is true that he is a good defender, but I don't want to see him getting more than 15 minutes a game.

Lucas made a pretty big difference in the game on the defensive side of things last night. It was either Davis or Harris that was on fire, but Lucas came in the game and really played great man defense. He didn't force any bad shots and made the best of his seven minutes.

I do see your point. I've watched many a bad shots be put up by him earlier in the year, but when he doesn't force shots, he's an asset.
