The Hornets will look to rebound after their 2nd half meltdown against McNeese State but will have to do it on the road against a tough Cal Poly team. CP is coming into the game at 4-2 and on a 2 game winning streak. This team finished in the top half of the Big West last season and are looking to make some noise this season as they have a lot of returning talent this season. CP is well balanced and have multiple players who contribute. The Hornets will need to key in on stopping guard Fermin to try and disrupt their scoring. I think the Hornets will have a tough time looking for a win in CP.

No sound on the video. The new BSTV module blows the Big West one out of the water. CP's Mott Gym = bigger version of Hornet Gym.

5-3 Hornets with 15:50 left. Neither team looking good. Hornets with poor shot selection early on.
9-6 Hornets with 14:12 left. Veteto with a huge size advantage inside that the Hornets have been exploiting.
11 all 11:58 left. Most of CP's action has been along the perimeter. Dickson looks off tonight. (Could be Jackson, I can't tell in this Lego style stream.)

Hornets are falling apart and committing a lot of fouls.
CP is running away with it. 20-13 with 9:31 left. Turnovers are killing the Hornets. Hornets are getting killed on the boards. No aggression and little hustle so far.
20-15 CP with 7:34 left.

He's terrible.

28-23 CP with 2:45 left. Both teams picking it up a little on offense. CP is just out shooting the Hornets right now. The Hornets just don't look very energetic on offense, pretty reminiscent of last season at this point.

I'm watching the game online, and its quite a toss up between listening to this idiot or watching the game with no sound....good god. Anyway, Garrity needs to shoot more, he's got a great shot and I can see he loves to make those assists but he can shoot and he should.

I opted for video with no sound. I highly recommend it. The camera zooms in on the scoreboard on every timeout so you won't get lost.

37-29 CP at the half. CP shot lights out down the last 5 minutes of the half or so. They have been lethal from 3 point range and at the line. CP has been getting shooters open off of screens. Katz needs to find a way to counter that. Offensively the Hornets need to have better movement and stop telegraphing passes. There have been a handful of lazy telegraphed passes that were stolen by CP. This one isn't quite over yet but a small CP run will put it away.
 
Gosh I know we can beat poly, they are just hitting everything right now but also we're not dominating the boards like we usually do, and we've missed some easy shots. I hope we come out in the second half hungry and ready to play tough so we can come back and win. I can't stand cal poly.
 
Dickson thinks he's in the NBA - catches the ball, holds it in one spot for 4 seconds and then tries a Dirk Nowitski fade-away that he misses. Move the ball Dickson. He was out of it during the 2nd half against McNeese St too. He needs to start focusing on team play.

Well it's always a good sign when he starts the game with a deep 3. :roll:

39-29 CP 18:50 left. Katz with an early timeout.
47-35 CP 15:46. It's falling apart. The Hornets look awful on offense and are getting burned off the dribble for easy drives to the hoop by the CP guards. This might get ugly quick.
 
Dickson needs to be benched. just dropped and turned it over off a perfect pass from a Garrity dribble drive.

55-36 CP with 11:30 left. The Hornets are in compete meltdown mode now. Katz will need to find a way to get this team out of this funk before BSC play begins.
 
57-36 CP with 9:57 left.
61-39 CP with 7:14 left. Take note you "volleyball set" lovers of what CP is doing. This is how you eat clock with a big lead.

The Hornets have completely given up. It's a total embarrassment at this point. Katz and this program should be ashamed of themselves.

69-44 CP with 4:31 left. CP hasn't missed many shots in the 2nd half while the Hornets are just sleepwalking through the finish of this one.
 
77-51 CP Final. Complete embarrassment. CP shot the ball very well and the Hornets probably lose even if they bring their "A" game, but damn the way this team completely gave up reflects very poorly on Katz. Poor passing, poor ball and player movement, lack of aggression and poor shooting pretty much summed up the offensive end. The defense started out hanging tough but just fell apart to the point of being nonexistent in the last 10 minutes. Completely out played and out coached. Now the Hornets get to travel to Oklahoma to collect a paycheck and an ass whooping.
 
In the 2nd half, the Hornets looked like the Hornets of the previous three years and that's scary - and sad. Hopefully, it was just a really "off" night.

The only good thing McElroy does is the Emigh Hardware commercials.
