Since there will be no TV that I know of, how many of you Hornet fans are going to cross the Causeway to root on the good guys??? Should be a good game and a short drive to support the Hornets. Now, I'm hoping to go to Stanford 8-1. That wouldn't be bad and Stanford is looking beatable. They just lost to St Marys by 17 and they will be playing Texas 2 days before they play us, while we will have 9 days to prep for them. Don't let me get TOOOOO far ahead of myself....WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS WEDNESDAY NIGHT......

I'm not making the trip, will watch online. The Hornets haven't played as sharp as they did in the first matchup, but I expect another good game.

They knocked off UVU on the road this past weekend 82-70. It was a close game until the dungpilers closed the game on a 12-0 run in the final minutes.

The game will be on BigWest Tv

I'm not doubting you sacagent but neither UCD nor Sac St. schedule shows that BigWest TV will televise....hope your right cuz if your not some people may miss the game altogether.

As a matter of fact both sites have it listed.

I stand corrected. I have no idea how I missed those as sure enough they are there. Sorry sacagent
Don't be too hard on yourself, when I looked at the schedule yesterday morning there wasn't a video link. Pretty uncommon for non-televised games to not be available for streaming these days.

Game notes for tomorrow night's game.

Wow, thanks SD, I could have sworn I looked at those schedules yesterday morning and saw no video links. I know I'm losing it but that would have been a total collapse of my already feeble mental abilities. I think the Hornets got back on track against Pacific and they should be able to take Davis to the woodshed. Our guards are too quick for them and their front court is too foul prone against our front court. I just see us matching up well against this team.

Hornets lose 66-61. This game shouldn't have been this close as the Hornets had an awful night from the floor. Terrible night for Graves and Demps. Stupid fouls got the Hornets into foul trouble, but ultimately the Hornets got zero calls on drives to the basket while the dungpilers got them all. They can thank the refs for an assist in this one. :ohno:

Hornets need to bounce back on Monday.

Hornets make it close at the end despite 16 fouls. Crazy. A huge comeback in the 2nd half falls short with the fouls.

Brush it off Sac State and come back strong on Monday.

Glad to see the Hornets and Ags playing twice this year and hope to see two games next year on the schedule. good for both schools and make so much sense .
Important to keep the rivalry relevant and active.

Go Sac State.

Hate to lose to the dungpilers, but we looked too sloppy and flat to win last night. Maybe too many games over the past week?

Great for both schools and the region to have this series play a home and home, every season.

It would be so beneficial for everyone to have the same arrangement Big Sky Football all else Big West that the dungpilers and Poly have. We are currently on a island playing schools, that people in our region has any interest in or connection with. It would make so much more sense for us to be in the Big West with our fellow California schools. We have a natural connection and history with these schools, friends, relatives and neighbors etc. are graduates of these schools. We have alumni living near these schools and they have alumni living near us. That's the way to build interest in the program, not shuffling off to North Dakota etc., playing schools that the locals have zero connection or interest in.

It was a tough loss last night. As SD has said, we got very few calls to go our way all game but the ticky tack fouls were all called against us. The last 9min 38 secs, we only gave up 7 pts from the floor while we scored 16 from the floor. At the same time, Davis shot 12 free throws and made 9 of those. We shot 5 and made 5 in the same time period. 4 of their attempts and makes were the result of intentional fouls at the very end of the game, but the other 8 attempts kept Davis in the game when our defensive intensity was absolutely dominating the pace of the game. Our team never gave up and actually played harder at the end than the beginning of the game. Oh well, it's water under the bridge but we sure learned a bit about our freshman Wu. That kid can play on both ends and will need some more minutes in the future.

Fully seconded on that. The Big Sky has been a good home for football, but the Big West would have more regional interest and meaning for most other sports. I don't see that move happening for Sac though.

BW membership would save money and travel time, but that's about it. I don't really buy into the idea that people will just show up because BW teams would be coming to Sac. As we've seen last season, this season, and even going back to the Jenkins era is that people show up when we win regardless of who is on the schedule. BW and BSC are both bottom tier D1 hoops when it is all said and done, doesn't make much of a difference to me but I wouldn't be opposed to BW membership if the opportunity arose.

Gosh, the travel budget would be dramatically reduced with BW membership in all sports except football remaining in the Big Sky. And all those funds could be redirected to other needs in the Athletic Dept. And one might hope that Cal Poly, Long Beach State, Fullerton, Davis, Hawaii and the other BW schools might just bolster attendance in volleyball, baseball, softball, etc. And just from years of reading fan boards of Big Sky schools, Sac State is a joke to them and they are above us as a university and don't think we would be missed by the schools in the Big Sky footprint (which we are not)

And yes, when the Hornets consistently win in basketball and football people do come out regardless of conference affiliation.

That crap only comes from fans of other schools who don't bother to follow any sport other than football. Those "in the know" are VERY familiar with our domination in WVB (which looks like it's on the rebound after a short "hiccup"), track, and other sports. Heck, while it's not officially a Big Sky sport, we're also known as a regional power in gymnastics. But, yes, among the football elitists, we're something of a joke, but not to the degree that Northern Colorado is. We DID have a nice run during the Charles Roberts years. UNC hasn't really had anything like that....

Would guess that SUU, PSU are also seen as a joke in the Big Sky in football but look what they did this year. it is really best for the Big Sky overall for all schools to be competitive and for the conference as a whole . Very important for all Big Sky schools to be equally competitive in football and basketball as this will help the conference all all schools to enjoy the split at the attendance gate.
