M: CIT vs NAU

Per Hornet MBB Facebook, we are hosting NAU Saturday at 7 pm in the Nest!!!
Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 am.

Wanted to get tix, but my son is getting tubes in his ears Friday. Wasn't able to convince my wife her heal in time to go :p

I'll be following the action as closely as possible though. Go Hornets!

Brother in law is flying in Saturday night so i will be forced to watch on my phone! I wonder if the game will stream on BSTV or from that CIT site with their logos, etc. I assume Sac is responsible for the production. Major kudos to Macriss for forking up the dough to host this game. This team deserves to play at home again... Two more wins away from a national TV game!

Hey, it's time to get rockin and rollin. NAU is a good opponent but we handled them at home early in the season and barely lost to them in Flagstaff on a missed call at the end. We can win this and continue this season farther than anyone anticipated. Besides.....If we win this game we will have 20 wins against DI opponents. The Green Cookie Monster said he would be happy if we get 20 wins against DI competition. Can that be possible???? GCM happy about a Hornet team.....the sky IS falling....

Great season comes to an end as NAU shoot 78 percent in the 2nd half...crazy...and moves on . Hope the Jacks win it all . Bet they get to host the next game in Flagstaff.

Fantastic season for Sac State at 21-12 and hosting the first post season game in 53 years at Hornet Gym. "The old Barn" as our announcer called it tonight.

Lots to look forward to next year and may the Sac State new President and administration make a new arena a major priority for the university so the basketball program and so many other athletic programs and the university as a whole at last be the great school it is instead of the great university with that small gym.

Go hornets!!

Sac State Pride.

78-73 Hornet loss. Hornets played solid basketball for 26 minutes and built a 14 point lead, then fall apart in the last 14 minutes and play no defense whatsoever. The pressure defense was atrocious and it basically conceded an easy bucket to NAU every time it was deployed. NAU did a good job of locking up the Hornets on the offensive end as Garrity and McKinney struggled to get open looks down the stretch. NAU wanted it more and went out and took it, hats off to them.

Crowd was meh. It’s spring break and not many students attended so it wasn’t as rowdy as it was in the regular season games. Box score shows it was a sellout but there were plenty of seats to be had on the outer sections. My guess would be just under 1k attended. I think Gonzo was there (I didn’t have anything to throw at him :x ) and Sears was there as well meeting with the boosters.

Great season and I’m glad I got to see the seniors, especially Garrity and McKinney one more time before they move on. I’m glad we got to witness at least one winning season in Hornet history as I think this program will take a few steps back next season (you don’t lose 2 all-BSC players and not be impacted by it). Great season, it’s good to see some excitement around this program again and I hope this season’s run keeps the hoops program relevant and competitive for many more years to come.

So many accomplishments for the team this season.

The list is long.

But Relevance stands out.

The Hornets were in the conversation from the beginning of the season til the end. Always in the mix, always part of the conversation

From non conference, to Big Sky play, to post season. Sac State was always there.

The culture has now shifted on campus and the students know that basketball is a winning program and trust that every effort will be made to continue this. It has taken 20 years but Sac State basketball is relevant. It is important to be acknowledged.

Sacramento State was always there. And this is what this program can be so proud of this year and the past couple years. We are relevant and let's continue to be.

The players have done their part, the coaches have done their part, the students, alumni and casual fan has done their part. Keep it up.

Time now for the admin. to do their part in getting a new facility built. At least something started. A fundraising campaign started. Something, anything. Baffling why something has not been at least started.

Good to see NAU in the CIT final tomorrow at Evansville. Hope they win it all. Great crowds in Flagstaff the past two rounds... 3,600 and 5,600 (record breaking)
