The Hornets (11-6, 5-1 BSC) will look to stay atop the BSC as they travel to Pocatello to face a pesky ISU (4-14, 1-5 BSC) squad. The Bengals have had their struggles this year but have played in quite a few close games in BSC play. The Hornets dominate the team stat comparisons with the exception of rebounding; however ISU has a couple of players that can hurt the Hornets if they are not on their game. Seniors Hansen (17.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg) and Solarin (11.4 ppg, 8.5 rpg) lead the Bengals in scoring followed by forwards Enzenwa and Bradley who both average just over 8 ppg. In the BSC, ISU is 11th in scoring offense (61.6 ppg) and 2nd in scoring defense (66.9 ppg).

This is a game the Hornets should win; however there are no easy road trips in the BSC and this is no exception. BSC contenders don’t lose these types of games, however the Hornets will have a target on their backs form this point on so they should expect to see everyone’s best. If the Hornets show up and take care of business then this should be a win.

Ok, it's game day. Hornets better not overlook ISU, they played very well last week, even though they lost 2 games they were only beat by 3 pts in each game, and they were on the road. Hansen can really shoot the ball and looks to have slimmed down a bit from previous years. Solarin is a beast on the boards...if you remember he got 18 rebounds against us last year in Pocatello. We need this game badly. GO HORNETS!!!!!

Idaho State continuously pounds the ball inside, so most of their shots are close in where the Hornets struggle defensively the most. Hanson is the only long ball threat, but he's very good. We've got to take this game to be a legit first place contender in the Big Sky.

Listening to this choppy ISU feed but it sounds like Hansen is out for tonight's game.

30-26 Hornets lead at half. Hornets had a 9 point lead midway through the 1st. The Hornets had a good start but have largely played like crap the rest of the half. The Hornets were getting some easy baskets inside with Stuteville but settled for a lot of perimeter shots later on. Credit ISU for slowing this game down and preventing the Hornets from getting into a rhythm. This is going to be a grinder unless the Hornets get it together.

Evans is a good coach..he made some good adjustments...Hornets will have to find the range from outside a bit better than this first half..Dylan has been shut out, need more from Demps, Mills or Barlett.

62-59 Hornets escape Poky with a win. Garrity completely shut out, McKinney led the way, clutch FT shooting down the stretch with Mills and Jackson. Not a good game at all. ISU's Hansen only played the 2nd half and almost won the game for them. Wow, lucky win tonight. Tons of credit to ISU, they stepped up and had a hell of a game plan.

ISU played hard last week on the road and just came up short so it's no surprise they played hard at home. I don't think we will ever win again with Dylan getting shut out. Thank God for Mikh McKinney!!!!!!

No kidding. Weber lost again to PSU so Saturday will be an interesting one.

Stuteville was solid tonight inside, as was Tiffin. ISU did a good job in taking that away. I don't like the blocking call on ISU late, but that lady's head was in the way so I couldn't see it. Watching ISU's 3rd rate stream quality really made me realize how spoiled we are with our HD webcasts.

OK, one down and one to go. Will require a better game from the Hornets to beat Weber at the Dee. Weber will be in a bad mood after getting beat by Portland St. I'm sure we will see a different Garrity Saturday. We can win this game but it will require a team effort on both ends. Weber seems to struggle against the press so I hope we pressure them off and on to disrupt any flow they might try to establish. This win would be HUGE for the Hornets.......

I think last nights game is a great example of how far this program has come - PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING THAT WE ONLY WON BY 3 POINTS. :thumb:

In years past we would have been complaining that the Hornets can't win on the road. Good teams find ways to win when they're not playing their best, last night is a great example of that type of effort.

Congrats to the team - nice win!

I agree about the past complaints about road games but you won't find me complaining about how much we win by on the road. Any road win is a good win (not just for us but for all BSC teams). I also agree about how far this program has come but we also can't be overly satisfied or complacent with the Hornets as I'm sure they aren't satisfied yet either. Damn it's nice to be in first place though!!!! Even if it is early in the season. It was only last year that we were 0-4 to start BSC play and everyone was ready to give up on the season. Let's enjoy a little bit of what this season has brought us so far.

I agree. Any road win is a good road win. There were a few times in the ISU game where I thought the Hornets would pull away, but ISU crawled their way back into the game each time.

EDIT: Nicely done game recap by ISU. If only their online stream could be this clear:

M: @ Weber State

The Hornets (12-6, 6-1 BSC) head to Ogden to defend their conference lead against a struggling Weber State (8-10, 4-3 BSC). The Hornets have only won once in Ogden and WSU will be looking to rebound from a loss against Portland State. WSU has four players averaging near or above 10 ppg, all of whom will have at least another year together. Junior guard Senglin (15.9 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 3.9 apg) leads the way with Bolomboy (13.0 ppg, 10.0 rpg) anchoring the interior. Guards Gittens and Golden round out the leading scorers (10.6 and 9.3 ppg, respectively). WSU clearly has the scoring talent; the issue is whether or not they can come together as a team and turn things around.

The WSU posters indicate that the Wildcats are soft on the interior. I think the Hornets will need to attack the paint with Stuteville, Tiffin, Hornsby, and maybe even Strings to test them early. Garrity will need to get back on track along side McKinney’s consistent acrobatic production if the Hornets are to get a rare win in Ogden.

With last night’s win the Hornets are once again playing with house money on the road. I like the idea of a road sweep but we always seems to struggle mightily at the Dee. I would like for the Hornets to keep the winning going but I am not feeling it for this one; I hope I’m wrong.

GAME DAY..We have to take care of business in Ogden. Weber's guards don't handle pressure very well so we should give them some pressure to deal with. We can't pressure all game but we can pressure after timeouts, free throws, those sorts of situations. Need to keep up the good shooting percentages. Defense needs to close out on their outside shooters and our bigs got to play BIG!!! Would be real nice to come home 7-1. Play hard as always and experience will pay off in the end. GO HORNETS!!!!!!

37-37 at the half.

Fight hard Hornets in the 2nd half. Be the excellent team you are and give it all you have.

Take it to the hoop and defend.

We are all behind you.

Go Hornets.

This is a winnable game for the Hornets; we need to step up our "D" and we could take it. McKinney will probably start hitting and if he does, I don't think they can stay w/us.

The Weber State A.D. is saying that the Big Sky is looking for a three year pre-determined site for the playoffs. Vegas is filled up so that venue is out, but others bidding were Weber St., Spokane, Reno, NAU, Greeley and Missoula. It won't happen this season tho, so if the Hornets finish first, we'll have to figure something out.

Hornets win.

Sweet!!!!!!!

So many historic milestones tonight.

-2nd win in Ogden in 22 years...a place where very few teams win. The Wildcat home win record is incredible.
-A Big Sky road sweep for the Hornets.
-7-1 and in first place in the Big Sky. 13-6 overall. 8-1 at home and 5-5 on the road.
-2 or 3 wins away from the first winning season in Div I history for Sac State.

And much more.

74 percent shooting in the 2nd half!!! Wow. Maybe another POW coming up for the Hornets?

Eastern Washington wins big over North Dakota and Montana wins by a bucket over Southern Utah. The Eagles and Griz stay right behind Sac State in the standings with only one loss in Big Sky play.

A sweet time to be a Hornet.

Trusting that Hornet Gym will be sold out for the next 3 games at home.
Hope the students realize what an incredible team they have and come out with the Montana schools coming to Hornet Gym. We need their support. And maybe the marketing department can declare a White Out for both games!! Come on Green Army. Time to come out and be the Green Army.

Just a wonderful night for Hornet basketball in so many ways.

Keep it rolling Hornets for the next 3 games at home on campus.

Go Hornets!!

7,880 Wildcat fans in Ogdan tonight. Amazing fan support at Weber State and incredible for the Hornets to win in that kind of environment. But they did and so that is all the more reason to be proud of this team and to believe that they are doing what they need to do game by game. It's going to be fun with 10 Big Sky games yet to go.

Go Hornets!!

Sac State Pride.
