There isn’t much to say about this Montana road trip as the Hornets are on the road to face MSU tonight then UM on Saturday night. The best chance for a Hornet win this weekend will be at MSU but I don’t see them overlooking the Hornets.

72-65 MSU final. The outcome wasn’t a surprise, but I did tune in to catch a large portion of the second half and the Hornets looked decent. They entered the second half in typical Katz fashion which is trailing by over 10 points but the Hornets were able to battle back and make a game of it. Unfortunately, the Hornets were unable to finish the comeback and still lost (also typical Katz fashion). The Hornets had a so-so showing on offense with good ball movement and good penetration but poor perimeter shooting; however on the defensive side the Hornets couldn’t match the quickness and agility of the MSU guards.

Tought game last night as expected. I don't think MSU has had an easy game against Sac State for a long time.

Once the Hornets figured out what MSU was doing they really got it going. Through most of the second half MSU couldn't get an easy shot on offense and couldn't get stops on defense. But that's been kind of a theme for the Bobcats-blown leads, late season swoon after everybody learns our stuff.

Your freshman point guard was impressive, and the your new big guy (the transfer from Riverside) could be a load if he can stay out of foul trouble. Dixon was off his game for some reason-which probably saved the Bobcat's bacon.

Your coach shouldn't have called the time out there in the last minute. You had a chance to tie with the three and were in a nice offensive flow while MSU was on their heals. After the timeout the offensive foul was called and MSU was able to hit their freethrows to win it. Coaches do that all the time (call timeouts to set up last minute plays) when they should just let the players play at that point. It was a tough break for the Hornets.

Good luck against the griz Saturday.

Hornets are at UM tonight. This game is a guarantee loss as UM is looking to reaffirm itself as the 2nd best team in the BSC behind WSU. The best case scenario for tonight is that this game is not a complete embarrassment.

Yup.

85-56 loss to UM in a complete no-show by the Hornets. Given how the Hornets have played under Katz this season, this result is no surprise. The next game against WSU could very well be another laugher as well.
