This is the BIGGEST GAME Sac St has played up till now. Win and we host the BSC tournament as the regular season champs. Once again I think our senior leadership will prevail but we still need solid contributions from everyone on the team. In January we beat SUU by 15. In that game we only had 3 turnovers. We need another clean game turnoverwise on Thursday. Last Saturday at PSU we played the perfect game in that we only turned the ball over 6 times. That is the kind of game we need Thursday. SUU is not a bad team by any stretch. The next couple of years they will be a force but we can and should beat them this week. GO HORNETS!!!!!!!

Yup this is for all the marbles. Both games will be tough but this is the "easier" game IMO. If we are going to win the BSC crown it has to happen Thursday night, I have a hard time seeing us win in Flagstaff. SUU will make the BSCT if they can tie Weber at 8th, so they have plenty on the line.

The first game against SUU was a grind and a lot closer than the final score. If I recall correctly, it was our late FT shooting that put it away, also the officiating wasn't very good. We also played without Stuteville for much of the game due to an ejection.

SUU has steadily improved as they are playing a young lineup. This team will be good in the coming years. SUU has won 4 of the last 6 including a close loss at EWU. The Hornets will need to bring their "A" game to win this one.

Tonights the night. Hornets need to put this one in the books and do it quickly. Don't allow SUU to think they have a chance to upset us. We can dominate on the inside although Oliverson is playing way better than the last time we played them. Hess is the go to guy for them. He is a very good player both from the outside and he can drive it a bit. Need to silence all the talk about our hosting the tournament. JUST WIN BABY!!!!! GO HORNETS!!

:+1:

I'll only get to catch the first half, so I hope we hit halftime in good shape.

Hornets going in at 4 to 4 1/2 point favorites over the Thunderbirds; it opened at 3 1/2.

Sagerin isn't giving us any props as he still has the Hornets way down at #200 as compared to EWU at 130th and Montana at 162nd. Our RPI is 123 tho.

Hornets have the inside game going, but S. Utah is hitting from outside and keeping it close. We look okay tho so far leading by only two under 8 to go.

29-26 Hornet lead under 4 to go. Hornets seem a little flat. I see Stuteville has 2 PFs already. Not good.

37-36 SUU lead at the half. SUU just isn't missing from downtown. Hornets are going to have to dig deep to pull this one out. We are getting the calls when we are driving to the tin. Welp, I get to follow the rest of this one on my phone. I hope we pull this one out.

Hornets are going to have to start picking them up on the outside otherwise this could be real tight right down to the last shot. We look good on offense, but the defense is lacking now.

Man, this is nerve wracking; Hornets lead by one, 61 to 60 w/under 4 to go. It's been close the entire game, so it'll probably come down to the final shot. Thank goodness Demps is on his game.

Hornets fall to S. Utah, very disapponting loss, 69 to 65. I guess if you can't beat S. Utah you don't deserve to host the tourney; I just don't see us beating NAU down there. I can't take it anymore!

:( a HORRIBLE LOST. Cannot be a conference winning team and loose to Southern Utah. They played hard the first 10 minutes of the game, and the other 30 minutes, it was too casual. They are good, but they have to play hard every minute of the game. Not good enough to be average and expect to win.

We're in big trouble at this point... My wife warned me when they started out hot tonight, she said "don't get too excited, you know this is Sac State"... She was so right... It was very "Sac State" of us to lose this game, and I think SD is right, I don't see us winning at NAU.

The Lumberjacks played pretty good defense and rebounded like their lives depended on it against PSU. But....they must have missed 10+ lay ups and were as lethargic as possible on offense. When Yanku struggles, the whole Lumberjack offense struggled.

I am less positive of an NAU win than a lot of Hornets fans. Sac State definitely has more to play for. I'm looking forward to driving up for Saturday's game.
