The Hornets tip off at UCR in a few minutes. For whatever reason the Hornets have historically struggled in Rivertucky and will be looking for their first win there.

31-29 Hornet lead at half. Hornets jumped out to a 7-0 lead and led by as many as 9. McKinney is still showing everyone he is the man, Stuteville is having a solid night as well. Quiet night so far for Garrity but Mills has stepped up. Hornsby in foul trouble. Not much to say about everyone else. Hornet defense has been pretty good about clogging up the paint but UCR has hit on some 3's. Should be a good finish.
 
YES!!! 70-69 WIN!!!! First Hornet win in Rivertucky!!!!

Hornets trailed almost the entire 2dn half. UCR started hitting perimeter shots that opened up the interior in which they got a lot of points in the paint. Mills had a great game off the bench, Garrity hit some huge shots as well. McKinney carried this team down the stretch but it was Demps with the winner with 17 seconds to go. UCR misses 2 shots in the final possession. Wow, good road win. Gritty performance.

Good road win. McKinney played like a madman in the last 5 minutes. He scored 8 of the last 10 then Demps hit the winner. Over all team effort won this one. Nice to see Zach have a good game. He shot the ball very relaxed and confident. Hornsby got a few quick fouls which made Katz go to Mills who responded. Taylor Johns for Riverside had a great game (double double in the first half). I know we actively recruited him out of high school. Looks like we missed on a good one. We should get another win Wednesday against Simpson and then another against Brixtol which will put us at 4-1. I'll take that start.
 
Mills and Garrity saved us there after UCR shut down McKinney thru most of the 2nd half until he got going again at the end.

After four games, the team looks to be a lot like last year's team, not outstanding, but should be competitive in the Big Sky. UC Riverside was picked to finish last in the Big West, but they looked better than a last place squad.
