73-62 Hornets final over UNC. I felt this game was winnable if they showed up and played tough for a full 40 minutes and they did just that. Coupled with a pathetic performance from the charity stripe by UNC, the Hornets went on to win on the road. Garrity was as cool as ice in nailing all of the FT’s in the final minutes. Well done.

Big win for the Hornets, anytime you can win a conference road game job well done. Garrity with 16 points and 9 assists, it is crazy how many more assists he would have if his big men would actually make layups on a consistent basis. The Hornets shot the ball really well in the 1st half, but cooled off in the second. Time for the Hornets to get on a run.

Hornets held off the Eagles to win by four, 75 to 71 after leading by 19 at the half. We totally lost our composure down the stretch and were lucky to beat them the way we were playing. You can say what you want about Katz not knowing what to call playwise, but we've got a lot of "stupid" players. I've never seen so many idiotic fouls for no reason. We were fouling instead of trying to rebound their misses. It let Eastern come all the way back, even late in the game. If we'd of given this one away, I would've stopped watching them the rest of the way and I'm a "diehard" fan.

That being said, we've now won three in a row and if we can regroup for Montana St., we could beat them too. We looked awesome in the first half; like a "real" Division One team. Eberhard saved us tonight with his free throw shooting and ball control/board work.

Great win on the road, very impressive!

MSU is absolutely a winnable game, one that KenPom even has them favored to win. They are two back of EWU and PSU but knocking on the door, that is for sure. Also big that they got these last two wins on the road, that should be big for their confidence level.

Three wins in a row with two coming on the road is huge. Glad to finally see the Hornets hang on and win one of these close ones. This team still needs to work on finishing these games. With a home stand against the Montana's coming this week, I think at best the Hornets will split. MSU is a winnable game but the Hornets will need a full game and cannot afford to come unglued like they did at the end of the EWU game. This Thursday is an absolute must win if they want a shot at the BSC Tournament.

I am not SD, but I would not say probable yet even if that happens. They are still two games behind EWU and PSU, so at best they would be tied in the win column when they take on PSU. Even they win both with their momentum I think certainly they would be favored to make it, but since they would be no better than tied I would hesitate to say probable with how quickly things can turn in the Big Sky.

SD: You're the expert here. Do you think the BSCT is at least PROBABLE if the Hornets pull the MT sweep?
I’m no expert given I have seen very few games due to work, but the Hornets need a split this week to stay alive, a sweep in the win column still wouldn’t guarantee a BSC Tournament berth but would be a huge step in the right direction and a sweep in the loss column will pretty much remove the Hornets from BSC Tournament contention.

I haven’t looked at the other BSC team schedules but we have the Montana’s at home followed by 2 games with PSU and close out with a road game at ISU (not to mention a meaningless Bracketbuster game with SJSU). All of those games are winnable with the exception of Montana. The Hornets need to get to at least 6 BSC wins; otherwise I just can’t see a postseason appearance. :twocents:
