M: vs Eastern Washington

The Hornets (10-13, 3-9 BSC) host Eastern Washington (15-10, 9-4 BSC) who is looking to lock down a top 4 seed. EWU won the first match-up 74-67 in a game where EWU had a horrific night from the perimeter but Jois dominated inside.

If EWU doesn't have an off night from 3 point land then this game won't be close. The Hornets should once again have no answer for Jois inside. Only difference this time around is that the Hornets will have Demps back, but I still don't see that changing the outcome tomorrow night.

Kenpom has EWU as a 52% chance of winning...puts us at 48%...I'll take that with Demps coming back...2 pt spread on the game so Las Vegas doesn't think it will be a blow-out...I agree that we have to find an answer for Jois....

Yeah Jois is too quick for Stuteville and too big for Strings/Hornsby. A total match-up nightmare for us. I guess the Hornets could attack him and hope to get him into foul trouble.

Eastern Washington is on a six game winning streak and they have been nuclear from the 3 point line ever since they shot it badly against us a couple weeks ago. McBroom has been 19-36 since that game which is crazy. They make it hard because they spread you out with four shooters and then have Jois down on the box/running high PNR. Sac State's offense has really been struggling recently so I'm hoping some shots will fall tonight. Close victory tonight and blow the doors off Idaho Saturday, time to go streaking.

Disappointing loss....too many missed free throws....dug too deep a hole in the first half again...I'm starting to think we ought to play press and trap all game....when we play frantically from behind seems to be when we play the best...I mean, what do we have to lose???

93-88 loss. I didn’t watch it but it looks like another typical storyline again, just a different game. Amazing that the Hornets gave up 58 first half points. Every EWU scorer had 10+ points, a total defensive no-show. :ohno:

Last night was the first time I could see Demps play since the injury...he is virtually playing on one leg...no lift on his shots and can't finish like we all know he can when healthy...it's a shame his career at Sac has to end like this..possibly by tournament time he can get some jumping ability back..he is playing remarkably well for someone with his injury...I'm sure the leg is fully healed but he just has not regained the strength yet...

M: vs Idaho

The Hornets 10-14 (3-10 BSC) host a surging Idaho 17-10 (9-5 BSC) squad that is coming in on a 3 game win streak, the Vandals have also won 5 of the last 6. Idaho is also in the hunt for a top 4 seed for the BSCT.

The Hornets squeaked out a 65-63 win in Moscow earlier in the season against an Idaho lineup that was missing its top two scorers. Unfortunately for the Hornets Idaho will be at full strength for this game. It's likely another Hornet loss tonight.

Hornets get a much needed win 68-65. The game was pretty boring and the officiating was absolutely dreadful, but the last 10 minutes were fun to watch. Hornets started the game ok but Idaho was able to lead by as many as 11. Too many missed open 3's and missed FTs. Demps had a great game (18 pts) and Strings continues to be a total beast (23 pts, 9 boards). Barlett (12 pts) had a good game coming off the bench.

We won a close one tonite...they shot 20-25 from the line in the 2nd half...refs tried their best to keep the Vandals in the game and they did keep them in the game...just didn't screw us enough for them to win it...they made only 7 fgs in the 2nd half...I sure wish we would play a first half like we have played the second half...

Great to see the Hornets sweep the recycled Big Sky Vandals. And nice to see the Sac State band out at Hornet Gym on a Saturday night. And a nice crowd but wish it was a sell out but all good as the Hornets took care of business at home on a Saturday night and that is good and progress for this season.

Best of luck Hornets on the dreaded and crazy trip to Colorado and North Dakota next week.

And then back home for NAU and SUU before heading up over the hill to Reno
