M: vs Holy Names

Hornets first game in the Nest is Friday at 7. This should be a rout as Holy Names comes into this one at 1-2. PGP, think Katz plays this one straight up or lets the younger guys get more time? This will be a nice springboard into the 3 home games next week.

Katz isn't one to run a score up so I think if the game is well in hand everyone should play good mins. It always pays dividends by getting more mins to the guys who don't usually get much time. Injuries can crop up and you may need one of these players to step up and fill a bigger role, that's when these minutes pay off. I was just looking at the schedule and started thinking it may be possible to be 9-0 when we go to Stanford. Wouldn't that be something from lowly old Sac State??

I love the optimism.  :notworthy:
If we are 9-0 heading into Stanford there is no way I am not making it to that game.

You haven't learned to not doubt me yet. It could happen. I'm not going to back off yet. The only tough spots are @Portland, but we beat them there in the CIT last spring or Incarnate Word who has to come into the Nest. I've seen Pacific and I can't see them beating us and USD is not a power house team either. So SD, who do you see beating us?? (Don't say Davis)

If the Hornets keep playing like they have been then definitely not the dungpilers. Stanford could very well be the only OOC loss if this team stays hot.

Hornets win in a rout 96-56. Hornets had a slow start but got things going and rolled. Solid up tempo play all around. Katz emptied the bench with 8 to play. FT shooting was at little better, (the reserves shot better from the stripe than the starters), Hornets shot 52% from the arc as MStuteville finally found his stroke from deep.

Great student turnout, meh turnout out by everyone else. I thought there would be more butts in the seats.

The butts should be there next Tuesday. I agree with everything you said SD. This team may be better than last years team (I didn't say that did I??). I see more depth at both the guard and front court positions. These guys can be scary good at times and I really haven't seen any prolonged periods of bad play. They have had short periods with some questionable play but all in all they have played at a very high level. Tuesday is a big game for more than the usual Causeway reasons.
