M: vs Northern Colorado

The Hornets (9-8, 4-5 BSC) host Northern Colorado (5-12, 3-6 BSC) this weekend. Both teams are very evenly matched and the Bears have 3 players who average double digits per game. The Hornets will have a tough time if Garrity is out again. UNC is fighting to stay relevant in the BSC standings so their back will be against the wall as another loss will make their post season hopes very slim. Conversely a Hornet win will keep the Hornets near the top of the jumble of BSC teams constantly jumping each other in the standings. This one could go either way but the Hornets should have a slight edge given that they have played well at The Nest this season.

great to see us win without garrity! anyone know if he's gonna be back/ tomorrow?
Welcome to the board!

Maybe Earle knows. My guess is they sit him out this game as well if he isn't near 100%.

Awesome game! I was very impressed by the play and teamwork on the court. After Northern Colorado caught up and went ahead by double digits, I was happy to see the adjustments made and heart shown by the boys. The Bears were merciless beyond the arc though. Our inside game was tough, and opened up our perimiter shooters, allowing us to widen the court and strike with efficiency. I won't go any further, and let one of our more experienced and thorough posters do it right. It was a wonderful outing, and I can't tell you how great it was to have my boy there (but I'm just being a proud papa bear, er... Hornet). Plus, my wife had a great time and is going to let me go to some of the remaning games this season! Life's good tonight.

Welcome back Jackson Carbajal!!!! We don't win without him. Very entertaining win. I guess I will continue to "waste" my time and not miss a home game this year.Mikh had his wiggle on last night. He's one of the most entertaining of all the Hornets this year. KEEP BRINGING THE ENERGY JACKSON!!!!

79-72 Hornet victory. I watched the replay this morning and aside from a 10 minute stretch in the beginning of the 2nd half, the Hornets controlled the rest of the game. It was a good shooting night for both teams, and UNC's deadly 3 point shooting kept this one close otherwise the Hornets would have run away with it. I agree with peegeepee, Carbs' 9 points off the bench was the difference last night. He also had a 3 rim in and out otherwise it would have been 12 for him. I've been riding him hard this season and I have to give him his props for this game. Let's hope this means he has finally shaken off his funk and can find his rhythm again.

McKinney (26 points, 4 boards) was in the zone last night. Pretty much everything he threw up went in. Konner "Garbage Man" Veteto had another solid game cleaning up the trash around the hoop. He had 15 points and 5 boards. Eberhard also had some clutch shots in the closing minutes and went on to put up 10 points and 2 boards. Garrity didn't start but had a couple of huge shots and Dickson (11 points, 2 boards)was probably the only key player that struggled last night. He jacked up too many 3's.
