Apparently the game is only available if you pay for it.
So I watched the first half of the WSU @ Gonzaga game and I noticed a few things about WSU:
- • They are a perimeter first team. They typically had 3-4 players behind the arc on their offensive sets. Not sure if they will do the same thing here as their big men have a considerable size and athletic advantage over the Hornets big men. With the defense spread out, their PG Moore would generate penetration which would result in either a drive to the hoop or a pass to a big man crashing the boards along the baseline. They took quite a few mid-range and three point shots and had a couple of players capable of making those baskets. If they have a bad shooting night, the Hornets might be able to keep it close. I think rebounding will be a challenge on both ends of the court for the Hornets.
• Defensively they ran some 2-3 zone and man. Again, this is an athletic group with good size in the front court so I think penetration and short jumpers will be hard to come by for the Hornets. The Hornets will more than likely rely on perimeter shooting, which if established could open up something inside.
