I don't remember this ever happening; Marcus has been named National Player of the Week by 2 separate basketball news services in the first week he has actually played DI basketball. I guess officially Marcus played last year (69 TOTAL mins last season) but now he is PLAYING.....Quite an accomplishment for a true sophomore
Looks like we are just reloading this year, not rebuilding....Congratulations Marcus!!

Graves named BSC POTW:
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- One day after being selected by two media outlets as the National Mid-Major Player of the Week, Sacramento State sophomore guard Marcus Graves was announced as the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

It marks the first time Graves, a true sophomore, has received the honor. Yesterday, both midmajormadness.com and collegesportsmadness.com anointed the him the National Mid-Major Player of the Week.

While we are on the topic of BSC POTW, Lady Hornet Moranne Johnson was named women's BSC POTW:
OGDEN, Utah - Sacramento State sophomore guard Maranne Johnson has been named the Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. The award is the first for Johnson, who led the Hornets to a 95-86 win at Utah State in their season opener on Saturday.
Congrats to both players.
