Media Day and Polls Released!

I’m totally good with the coaches and media rating several teams above the Hornets each year in the preseason polls because it has resulted in the Hornets winning at least a share of the conference title for 3 consecutive years (discounting 2020) and counting.

Here’s hoping for #4.

I'm with you there...so long as we are NOT behind the Manure Pile at ANY time....

My thoughts exactly. Relish the fact that everyone still overlooks this program even though all we have done is stack titles since '19.

I mean, it's a natural reaction by the overly skeptical.

The Hornets football program had been trash for the overwhelming majority of their FCS existence. Suddenly overnight they become one of the preeminent programs in the Big Sky and competing well against the likes of perennial power South Dakota State in the postseason.

Now their savior head coach has departed. Not having the pedigree of North Dakota State, of course the media is going to remain skeptical that it can continue.

But if it does this season under Thompson, Richardson and staff -- I believe they will get more respect and recognition going forward.

Regardless, as I said, I'm completely ok with being underrated in the preseason polls if the end result continues to be as it has been the past 3 seasons. Sign me up.

I will say that missing a top four spot being a disappointment is a welcome reality from the days of hoping/dreaming to sniff the playoffs.
