SACRAMENTO STATE TO HOST A MEET AND GREET WITH NEW HEAD MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH BRIAN KATZ

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State athletics department will hold a Meet and Greet with new head men’s basketball coach Brian Katz on Monday, April 14. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento.
President Alexander Gonzalez and Athletics Director Terry Wanless will introduce Katz to the public for the first time. The event is open to the media and public, and is free of charge.
A graduate of Sacramento State and a native of Sacramento, Katz’s extensive basketball resumé includes a 32-year career as a basketball coach at the NCAA Div. I, junior college and high school levels.
Prior to joining the Hornets, he spent the previous 15 seasons as head coach at San Joaquin Delta College (1993-2008) in Stockton, where he posted a 348-138 record (.716 winning percentage) and led the team to 14 playoff appearances, six conference championships, three Elite Eight appearances, and one Final Four appearance.
He also had head coaching stops at Lassen College (1989-93), Center High School (1983-87) and Casa Roble High School (1982-83). He was an assistant at Santa Clara from 1987-89.
